Yes, NCERT book is sufficient to score best in the board examination but it is compulsory to have the best knowledge for all the topics and have solved the questions given in the exercise, examples and the Intext.

So you can start your preparation from this book but I do not think that the book is sufficient for the IIT Advance examination but it contains all the topics for it.

So to qualify in the Advance examination you need to gather the information in the details of all the NCERT topics and numerical questions on all these topics.

If you will go through all the above no doubt you will score a better aggregate in the board examination along with the best score in the IIT or JEE Advance.

IIT stands for Indian Institute of Technology and these are considered to be the best engineering colleges across the globe. To get admitted in the same for engineering courses one has to clear the Joint Entrance Examination ( JEE ).

Now as per the syllabus of JEE, it follows the syllabus of NCERT books. So one must have the complete idea of NCERT books for clearing the same examination.

But one thing is sure that only NCERT textbook is not sufficient for clearing this examination as the book does not consists many questions for practice as well as the questions of that level which are asked in these examination.

Generally what happens that questions of JEE are based on the applications of theory which is given in the NCERT textbook and which are important for the board examination so you can not stick to the same books only for cracking JEE.

So to solve this problem you first must go through the NCERT textbook first and then must try to solve the application based objective problems to have better understanding of a particular topic. For this you can refer to the books by Shri Balaji Publication or GRB publication and more importantly NCERT exemplar.

Yes, NCERT books are sufficient for 12th exams. The syllabus of 12th class exams is completely covered in NCERT books.

Also for chemistry syllabus in IIT exams that is JEE Advanced, NCERT book is enough. The complete syllabus of JEE Advanced is covered in NCERT books.

NCERT books of class 10+1 and 10+2 are good enough to build basic fundamental concepts of subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics but enough to clear the entrance examination of Indian Institute of Technology.

With the help of NCERT books, you can score good marks in 10+2 board marks even more than 90%. For entrance examination of IIT, you must refer to some other reference books also along with NCERT books like:

For Physics: HC Verma or Rasnik Halliday Walker.

For Chemistry: O.P Tandon and RC Mukherjee.

For Mathematics: Books of Pearson Publications or K.C Sinha.

Practice of questions is much necessary to score well in JEE mains and advanced.

Honestly and Frankly speaking that NCERT books are good enough to score higher marks in any board 10th or 10+2 examination but not enough to clear the entrance examinations like Joint Entrance examination for getting admission in Indian Institute of Technology or National institute of Technology etc.

NCERT books of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are good for building the basic and fundamental concept of these subjects at senior secondary level. But for cracking entrance examinations like JEE Mains and Advanced, you need to refer to advanced books of these subjects like:

>>Physics: NCERT books, H.C Verma for the numerical problems.

>>Chemistry books: NCERT books, O.P Tandon, R.C Mukherjee for numerical problems.

>>Mathematics books: K.C Sinha and TMH publication. You can also refer to Pearson publication of books for this subject.

These books will cover the entire syllabus of all subjects for IIT JEE.

IIT stands for Indian Institute of Technology.
IIT colleges are the best institute in India for B.Tech and other engineering courses.
Admission in IIT colleges is only on the basis of JEE Advance rank.
JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination conducted by CBSE every year .

NCERT books are very good to score high marks in boards examination and also to build basic concept but not enough to crack JEE exam.
To go through these examination, you must have to practice as many questions as possible from the other help books under the guidance of experienced teachers who will help you to go through all the problems.
Along with help books , NCERT books are must to get basic knowledge.

Yes NCERT books ate sufficient for the 12th exams because these books gives all the deeply knowledge about the topics of 12th.
All the other books are based on NCERT books.
But the prepration of IIT like entrance exams you must get some extra knowledge which you can get from other references books.
