Re: Company Secretary course after B.Com?
Hi,
After the government made a rule 3 years before that each company with a turn over of about 1 crore should keep Company secretary. So the demand has increased and there are greater opportunities in the field. You decision to go for CS after your B. Com is one of the best. Get yourself registered in regional centre and appear for the exams you can even join coaching if you wish. There are three stages which you have to clear. First is foundation Intermediate Final There is also a period for training Thanks |

Re: Company Secretary course after B.Com?
Hi,
according to me, A company with a paid up share of Rs. 5 crore or seeking listing on stock exchange are required to appoint Company Secretary as per rules. A Company Secretary acts as an advisor and guides the company on its responsibilities and obligations towards law. To become a Company Secretary, one needs to be a member of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). To pursue the course of company secretary, one must have passed +2 from a recognised institute. The CS course is divided into three stages 1.Foundation Programme 2.Executive Programme 3.Professional Programme A candidate with a bachelor's degree can enroll directly for the Executive programme. After successful cpmpletion of the Professional programme and practical training prescribed by the institute, the candidate becomes the member of the ICSI. There is no entrance test conducted for admission in CS programme. The last date of registration for the Foundation Programme is 28th of February to appear in the examination conducted same year in the month of December and 31st of August for the examination conducted next year in the month of June whereas, the last date of registration for the Executive Programme is 28th February for December Exams in the same year and 31st August for June Exam next year. For further information regarding subjects and their syllabus, please visit The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, ICSI House, 22, Institutional Area, Lodi Road, New Delhi 110003. Re: Company Secretary course after B.Com?
Answer the following questions yourselves, and you will know whether you really want to do it or not
1. Why you want to do Company Secretaryship, and not, say CA or ICWA or MBA? 2. Do you like reading, interpreting, analysing? Do you like to read between the lines? Do you like to phrase your wordings in a nice way? 3. Do you really like the subjects covered in the syllabus? If all the answers are showing a positive feedback you can go ahead and do it. The key is to realise that this is what you want to do and then go ahead to achieve it. Duration of the course depends upon you. The moment you pass it, you will finish the course. Optimistically it should take you about 3 years time assuming that you are giving one group at a time and passing each group in first attempt. All the best |
