It is better to clear entrance exam without any year gap if it is not possible for you then you must be ready for with a answer of taking drop after 12 with good proofs supporting the reason.
Like you can say after 12 i appear in entrane but due to lack of information and preparation i was not able to clear exam.
You can also say i was cleard exam but good colleges are not available for me due to higher ranking.

sir actullay i drop dis year but beacause of some health reason i am unable to get good rank in aieee colleges then i have decided to take admission in ipu but will be go for aieee again and definately take admission in nsit thn tell me i am on the right path or not coz my parents wuld not allow me to drop this year and i am 19 year old plz sir do rply

Most of the companies accept students witha study of gap of not more than 2 years between the year of passing their 12th and joining of their B.Tech so this is not a problem for you..
you just have to keep your percentage above 60% in B.Tech and should not have any backlogs at the time of placement..

no there is no problem in dropping one year after 12th.....more than one year drop may cause a problem ....because companies like wipro ,TCS do not allow those students to sit in the campus who had more than one year dropped..........but if you have any medical certificate or some evidence that can verify your reason ,then it can be considered.

is it worth dropping a year after 12 for iiit-delhi?

No, there is no problem for that.
When you apply for a job or when you have to under go a placement ,
they will mainly check,
1) Your percentage .
2) Your language skills .
3) Speaking and intellectual abilities.
4) Your grasping power.

One year drop for entrance exams is quite natural in the country,
they will only search for good aspirants and talents for the development.

Any problems in taking 3 year to complete class12th in Engineering during placement in IIT.
