i have two year gap between my 12th and b.tech,first year gap was deliberate as i was preparing for competitive exam but i had medical problem during the course of exam months,so the second drop was unfortunately done by me,will this be affecting my placements. i have got 10th-88%,12th-83%,b.tech(3rd year)-78%.plz reply .

Your percantage is quit impressive but yes gap will effect u little bit .

no it will not affect your placement .
placement is all about how you perform doing b.tech .
how much are you clear with things .
but during placement you should have a valid reson for drop , if by chance they ask you.
but don't take tension for this matter .

dear friend it will affect your placement in some top companies like infosys,cognizant,etc

but it will not affect in many other companies because al most all the company not allow more 2 years gaps between 12th and the b.tech but you have only 2 years so it will not affect more

But all the CMM level5 companies provide the criteria of an year gap of 1year.
So, you can have some trouble to appear in those companies.
If you are able to show proper reasons behind it then it's ok.
But you can easily try some other CMM level3 companies to start your carrier.

Your academic marks is so good so you are eligible for Maximum no of companies.because maximum company want 65% through out in career.

But you have a problem in your placement some few companies are allowed only one year gap but the maximum no of company consider two year gape.

In the case of On campus it will not effect to your placement.

no,as you have good academic records...
you should have enough communication skills and technical skills to join in the a grade mnc companies...
you just explain your situation during interview..

Your year gap can effect your placements.It depends for which company's interview are you trying for.
Some companies put the criteria of year and some don't.
for example- UST Global is a it company and it does not keep such criteria but companies like Wipro Keep this Criteria.

inter 1998 march and completed on march 2000 with 49%
b.com on march 2002 and completed on 2005 SEP with 48%

i joined MBA FROM 3Years Distance education with 58% from 2006 to 2009 and I have joined on CA Audit firm on 2006 to 2009

Definitely it will affect not your placement but your Package.
Most of the companies prefer those candidates who are Fresher.
But you have cored very good marks in 10th 12th and B-Tech.
Hence though your gap year ill affect but will not effect you much.
You are just required to score such good marks in upcoming semesters also.

You have scored good percentage of marks in all your academic levels. This reveals that you are good at academics.

I don't know the reason for the gap of 2 years in between your academic levels.

If there is a genuine reason for this and if you are able to show the proof of for them, then you will be eligible to apply for the campus placements.

HR Interview

Some companies will also conduct JAM as a part of selection procedure to screen more number of candidates.

I suggest you to collect the placement papers of top IT companies like
TCS
WIPRO
GOOGLE
ORACLE
DELL
DELLOITE
MICROSOFT
TECH MAHINDRA etc.
and start preparation for the same.

Make sure that you are going to get the job in campus placements itself otherwise there is a huge competition among the candidates in outside market.

Your percentage are good so congratulations for that, yes the gap effects placements because some companies clearly denied students having large gap but yes some companies allowed them so prepare hard and best of luck.

i had given my 12th boards in 2014. I have taken a drop . .and got qualified in SRMJEE. But it was not affordable for me. I am thinking to take another year drop since my economic conditions are not so good these days and couldn't afford a loan also. Will it be okay to take two years drop?
Does colleges give admissions to such students?
