Hi,
The different streams or specialisation in MBA are HR, marketing, finance and IT so you can analyse you skills and may be you can go through pcychometry test and decide as to which you are suitable accordingly you can opt for specialisation. Don't think for market demand but see your skills, marketing field people get paid highest but that doesn't mean everyone should go for marketing. Most of people will not be good in canversing or convincing people then they fail when they go for jobs and they have end turning to other field instead of their specialisation. So think and decide and then take specialisation. |

The answer is not easy. There are various branches of MBA that offer great career scope. It depends on your choice and apart from that you should also see the current demand. MBA as you may know is called Master of Business Administration which is 2 years long post graduation course.
You can pursue MBA after completion of graduation course. Below are some specialization of MBA. Finance IT Healthcare Marketing Human Resources Banking Retail Management International Business Aviation All these specialization offer great scope thus you can choose any of them. Although MBA in Finance is generally what I recommend. But going by current economic scenario you can do MBA in Retail Management. I say that because government has approved FDI in Retail and pretty soon India will be flooded by the stores of retail giants like Walmart. They will require a MBA in Retail Management graduates to manage their retail stores across the country. If your aim is to find job overseas that perhaps it would make sense to avoid MBA in Banking. The banking sector in Europe and United States is very fregile. Even in India, banks are not doing well although there isn't must risk at this time but you can think of avoiding MBA in Banking if you have no interest in the banking sector. Same goes for Aviation since the aviation sector in the country is on the verge of collapsing, you may want to skip that as well. My top 3 picks for you would be: 1. Finance 2. Marketing 3. Human Resources However I will advise you to consult other people as well before making any decision. For admission you will have to give entrance test. The most popular of them all is Common Admission Test. It is popular because the top business schools in the country - Indian Institute of Management offers admission on the basis of CAT Exam You must have scored 50 percent marks in graduation to appear for CAT. There is 5 percent relaxation for SC/ST candidates. If you have scored less marks then you can appear for the Management Aptitude Test (MAT). The good thing about MAT is that there is no percentage criteria. You only need a graduation degree to appear for MAT. |
