Re: Higher studies options after mechanical engineering btech?
i,m an african student doing my third year btech mechanical engineering at the polytechnic of namibia, my wish is to study my msceng degree after i graduate with my btech, the thing is, now that i,m doing my btech, me to apply for msceng has got no good posibility especially in south africa because i had that to do an msceng one must have a beng or bsc as an undergraduate degree first. but my problem is that i dont want to do the mtech because i dont want to spend my life in the technical field for ever, i want to change to proffesional, and do reaserch, so if there is any body out there to help me, what option do i really have, if i want to study a profesional master after my btech, any one who have a clue for me can contact me at my email. [email protected] thank you.

You are in the 3rd year BE Mechanical Engineering ,so you have lot of opportunity to become Design Engineer.
The mechanical engineering involves the areas of designing, information, analysis and maintenance of various machines. if you choose M.Tech then it covers Design, thermal and production engineering and many more. The mechanical engineers can work in different industries like Aerospace, Automobile, power generation and manufacturing, chemical, etc.The various roles in which a mechanical engineer can perform are Application Engineer Associate Professor CAD Designer Lead Engineer Mechanical Design Engineer Mechanical Project Engineer PEC Structural Analysis Senior Mechanical Engineer Technical Officer Qualification Criteria for Higher Studies after B.Tech mechanical one should have pursued B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. HI
You have lots of options Firstly you may join job if you dont want to go for higher studies If you want to go for higher studies, they you have following options - MS - MTech - MBA Find below some options if you are considering broadening your knowledge domain in the field or relevant streams : • Aeronautical / Aerospace Engineering • Automobile / Automotive Engineering • Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Design Engineering / Automation / Mechatronics / Thermofluids / System Engineering etc. Considering management options, apart from the popular Masters in Business Administration, you can consider options like Masters in Engineering Management, Innovation Engineering & Management etc. you have good number options, choose wisely All the best |

Re: Higher studies options after mechanical engineering btech?
There are 2 options every engineer has for further studies irrespective of his/her stream.
You can either do an MBA or opt to do specialization in one of the topics/subjects related to mechanical engineering known as an M.Tech. You must do M.Tech only if you are ready for a job on manufacturing site for atleast a first few months. Else you must opt for an MBA and get a desk job in an office. |
