The best way to get job in railways after intermediate is through SCRA exam. It is one of the toughest exam in india. There are 2 ways to get the seat. One is written test and the other is interview. Only by passing the written test those are eligible for interview. In written test there are 3 exams -mathematics,physics and chemistry,and general ability test.

After Intermediate you can join Indian Railways as SCRA through its examination.

SCRA - SPECIAL CLASS RAILWAY APPRENTICE, the entrance exam for which is conducted by UPSC once every year for recruitment of SCRA in the Mechanical Dept. of Indian Railways.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian Citizen having complted 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with good marks from a recognised Board within the age of 17 to 21 years. The selected candidate has to undergo a technical training course before appointed as SCRA.
