Dear aspirant,

Yes you are eligible for IPCC course.



According to new guidelines of ICAI any graduate is eligible for direct entry to IPCC without clearing CPT.

For this direct entry to IPCC you must be-
A non commerce graduate with 60% marks or
A commerce graduate with 55% marks.

As you have scored 57% in B.com you are eligible for direct entry to IPCC course.

You can apply for the Chartered Accountancy course however whether you will have to appear for Common Proficiency Test or you can take direct admission for the IPCC depends on the marks obtained in graduation.

The ICAI offers exemption to the graduates which allows them to take direct admission in IPCC by skipping the Common Proficiency Test. However for that you need to have:

55 percent marks in commerce graduation

60 percent marks in non commerce graduation.

Since you have completed Bachelor of Commerce, if scored less than 55 percent, you will have to appear for the Common Proficiency Test. If scored 55 percent or above then will get admission in the IPCC.

In the scenario you have to appear for the Common Proficiency Test, you will have to score 30 percent marks in each of the two groups of the test to clear it. There are total of 4 subjects in the test.

1. Fundamentals of Accountancy

2. Economics

3. Mercantile Law

4. Quantitative Aptitude


After clearing it you can take admission for the IPCC which stands for Integrated Professional Competancy Course. It also have two groups of written tests. During the IPCC you will also have to start the articleship which will be 3 years long.

Before you complete the articleship you can appear for the Final Examination which is the toughest part of the Chartered Accountancy course which less than 20 percent students manages to clear it.

No there is no rule like that. Individual subject marks are not considered. You must make sure that you have 55% marks in aggregate. Since you have 64% marks you can directly register for CA IPCC. You can skip CPT exam.
