Procedure for NDA exam:-

Written test is conducted by UPSC but other 3 steps are conducted by SSB.

NDA stands for National Defence Service exam. NDA Examination is conducted for 3 wings-Indian Air Force, Indian Navy and Indian Army.

The candidate's who have completed the 12th standard with PCM from a recognized board or equivalent exam are eligible for Indian Air Force through NDA exam.

Your age should be in between to 16.5 years to 19.5 years.

To join Indian Air force after 12th one need to join National Defense Academy ( NDA ) by competing NDA examination.

NDA examination is conducted two times every year by UPSC in two stages which are written examination and service selection board interview respectively.

The eligibility criteria for the same examination for joining Indian Air force are as following :-

* You must be an Indian unmarried male citizen.

If you are a 12th class pass student and want to join CA course, then you have to qualify CPT (Common Proficiency Test). This is the first stage for 12th class pass candidates for entering CA course. After passing CPT, you can apply for admission into CA IPCC which is the second stage of this course. After CA IPCC, there will be CA final which is the last stage of the course.

For Graduate in Commerce with 55% marks, there is no need to apply for CPT.

Non Commerce Graduates with 60% marks are also exempted from CPT and can directly apply for CA IPCC.

After qualifying +2 level of examination with Science, there are two options available to join Indian Air Force:

Join as an Officer Through National Defense Academy
Join as an Airman in Group X

Now, to become an Officer, you will have to first of all undergo training at the Air Force wing of National Defense Academy and to get admission in the academy, you will have to qualify NDA Exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission. Candidates who have studied Physics and Mathematics in the higher secondary level and within the age limit of 16.5 to 19 years are only considered eligible for the examination.

To be considered eligible for the position of an Airman, you must have passed higher secondary examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and must have studied Physics and Mathematics in the same. As far as age limit is concerned, the minimum eligible age is 17 years and the maximum age limit is 22 years.

To join Indian Air Force you need to pass 10+2 and after passing 10+2 you have to sit for NDA (National Defence Academy) exam. It is conducted by UPSC, twice in every year ( April, September as NDA- I and NDA-II.
