Age limit of PCS examination for General category?


Please someone do explain me in detail that what is the age limit of PCS examination in India for general category.

PCS stands for Public Service Commission and these examinations are conducted for the recruitment of officers at the different administrative posts.

Generally there are two types of PCS examination. One called as Civil Services examination conducted by UPSC and other is the state PCS conducted by different respective state government.

-->The qualifications required for appearing in the same examination are as here under :-

* You must have the nationality of India.

* You must have either completed your graduation degree course or must be in the final year of same with any discipline of your choice from a recognised university.

* Your age must be within 21 years to 32 years for civil services examination if you belong to general category. Otherwise there is provision of age relaxation for other category candidates as per the government norms. For different state PCS age limit are different.

--> Also all the PCS examinations are conducted in three stages which are called as Preliminary test, Mains and Personal interview and all are held in the order which they are mentioned.

PCS stands for the Public Commission Service examination and it is the examination conducted by the various state and the central government.

The age limit vary for the examination vary for the different states but generally it is between the 21-30 years with the relaxation in the upper age limit for the OBC , SC/ST candidates.

The examination is conducted in the three stages and the candidates have to qualify in all the stage for the final recruitment in the services. For more information visit the official educational board website for the state.

PCS stands for Punjab Civil Services .It is a combined competitive exam conducted by the Punjab Public Service Commission to make recruitment in different posts in Punjab.

The eligibility criteria for PCS exam are as under :-

-The candidate must be a citizen of India,Nepal or Bhutan.

-The candidate should have completed graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university.The candidate who are pursuing final year of their degree course can also apply for the preliminary exam.

-The candidate must have passed Punjabi in 10th or in equivalent standard.

-The candidate age should be in between 21 years to 38 years.There is relaxation in upper age limit for Scheduled castes and Backward classes candidates of Punjab by 5 years as per the Punjab Govt. instructions.

-The Punjab Civil Services exam comprises of

* PCS Preliminary Examination ,

* PCS Mains Examination .
