Is there any age relaxation for Schedule Caste candidates in Officers Training Academy, Chennai (OTA)? Please, let me know about it genuinely.

No, there is no relaxation in age, marks, physical and medical standards for any reserved communities mentioned under Government of India as per the rules by UPSC.

- Age criterion : One must have attained 21 years in age but not more than 27 years before applying.

In OTA, their is no any age relaxation . One who aspire to join OTA wants to apply for the exam CDS conducted by UPSC for twice in a year.

Eligibility for OTA:

Should be graduate at any recognized University or College.
Age limit- 19 to 25 years ,should be unmarried and wants to be an Indian citizen.
Candidates should free from all disease and physically fit.
Required height for men 157.5cms and for women 152cms.
Eye sight must be 6/6 without glasses and without any color blindness.

Selection Procedure :

Written test.
Interview.
Medical test.

Age limit to apply for OTA under the CDS exams:

IMA – 19-24 years
OTA- 19-25 years


There is no Age relaxation for the Scheduled Caste candidates.

Indian Military Academy and Officers Training Academy educational qualifications--- The candidates must possess a degree from a recognized university or equivalent.

OTA refers to Officer's Training Academy and same is one of the wings of CDS ( Combined Defense Services ) and hence for joining OTA one has qualify CDS entrance examinations held by UPSC.

As far as you are concerned about the provision of age relaxation for SC ( Scheduled Caste ) category candidate for joining OTA then I would like to let you know that there is no such provision in case of CDS entrance examination and the age limit for appearing in CDS examination for joining OTA is 19 years to 25 years all category candidates.
