Hello, Am I eligible to appear for UPSC CDS if pursuing B.Sc in Yoga? Can you please provide me the details in advance so that I can start the process which is required from my end? It will be really helpful if you can answer me back soon. Thank you!

The full form of CDS is Combined Defence Services. CDS examination is conducted twice every year by UPSC.

1. Graduates of any discipline are eligible for Officer's Training Academy and Indian Military academy. B.Sc in Yoga candidates can apply for OTA and IMA through CDS exam.

2. The age criteria is 19-25 years for OTA and 19-24 years for IMA.

UPSC CDS means Union Public Service Commission Combined Defence Services. This is entrance exam which allows female unmarried candidates to enter into Defence. The eligibility criteria is:

For IMA and OTA: Bachelor's degree is minimum qualification required.

Age criteria:

IMA: 19-24 years.

Student must have passed a bachelor's degree from a recognized university.

Having completed your graduation degree with B.Sc in Yoga you are certainly eligible for appearing in UPSC CDS ( Combined Defense Services ) examination to join its IMA ( Indian Military Academy ) and OTA ( Officer's Training Academy ). You can even join AFA ( Air force Academy ) if you have studied Mathematics and Physics at your Class 12th level.

* Further for appearing in CDS entrance examination to join above mentioned wings of CDS you must have following qualifications ( apart from your educational qualification mentioned ) :-

i) You must be an Indian citizen.

ii) Your age must lie within 19 years to 23 years for AFA, 19 years to 24 years for IMA and 19 years to 25 years for OTA.

iii) You must satisfy the physical fitness requirement norms as specified in the notification released for the same examination.
