sir ,
i want to know that what is the possibility of attempt in GATE.
actually i have this exam two times. so this time confusion in my mind... !!
help me..!!

No confusion should be arosen since it has been clearly specified in GATE brochure itself about. Means they have not created a criteria of attempt for GATE exam.
However this would affect your performance in upcoming GATE score since GATE score is based upon previous years performances(as calculated in formulae).

the GATE eligibilty is given below

1.minimum graduation in engineering.

final year & prefinal year btech students are allowed to attain in the gate exam.

2.after msc doing msc. students are also eligibile to attain in the gate exam.

there have not any age limit to attain in the gate exam.

obviously you can appear in GATE examination.
for this year form fill up is already started from 21st september.
to appear on GATE i will tell you something. first thing in GATE question come from only basic knowledge. clear the basic concepts of your subject then easily you can answer the questions.
second things the question from mathematics is comparable easy than the technical question. so try to practice more mathematics. remember atleast 20 marks will be from mathematics and if you are able to secure almost 15 marks from here then it will be very easy to qualify.
next important thing is aptitude. in GATE 15 marks is aptitude. try to practice aptitude more. there are some mathematical aptitude which will be easily solved by using the class ix or x concept. but you forgotten it. so you have to do practice to recall it. from here try to secure atleast 10 marks.
lastly try to read only those chapter in which already you have a better knowledge. do not try to finish all the syllabus. but try to complete those chapter which you know. read so carefully that in examination you should not miss any question from those chapter.

Eligibility for GATE :-

1) Final year students or Degree holders of BE/B.Tech/B.Arch are eligible.

2) Master’s degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year.

3) Second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master’s degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology are eligible.
OR
Third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master’s degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/Technology.

So,there are no age limit to give GATE exam and you can give many times you want. But your GATE score is valid for two years.

There is no 'NO. OF ATTEMPT LIMIT' in GATE examination.
Also there is no age limit.

The rest of the eligibility criterion are as follow.
1. Bachelor degree holders in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
2. Master degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
3. Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/ Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/ Technology.
4. Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognised by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by IE(I), AMICE(I) by the Institute of Civil Engineers (India)-ICE(I)) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.

There is no criteria regarding the number of attempts in gate.
As you already appear in gate on two occassion so you can also be part of next attempt. but you should be in age limit.

Yes off course you can go for the third time also.There is no limit as such till now for writing GATE exam.Don't worry go for it.You just prepare it well and try to crack it this time.You can do it,all you need is a bit of confidence and believe in yourself.You can try for it as many a times you like.

Nothing to worry about you can go through the GATE exam any number of times and the only guidelines for the exam is that the candidate is expected to appear in a paper appropriate to the discipline of his/her qualifying degree.The candidate is however free to choose any paper according to his/her admission plan,keeping in mind the eligibility criteria of the institutions in which he/she wishes to seek admission.

hii, to apply for part time you need to write PGCET exam then only you can go for it, its 3 years course no IITs will provide you part time.

friend you can apply unlimited times for GATE exam, when you are satisfied with your score you can join to MTECH.

i have master degree in mathematics with 55%marks. what is the minimun persentage for appliying gate. can i apply?

you can give gate exam only when you completed graduation and you give these exam any no. of times untill you staisfied with your score.

GATE is agraduate aptituede test engineering exam.

You can write any number of time untill you get better rank. But two or three times is better if you cross the limit your time is wasted.

There is limit on number of attempts.

There are no rstriction to attempts for GATE exam.

Because there are no age criteria so you can apply here maximum tomes.

Gate score is valid for TWO years.

You have already given GATE exam for two times then also you are eligible for GATE exam,

One good and bad news for you is the submission through ONLINE for GATE has finished.
Good news is You may go personally to your nearest Zonal center and submit the application.
And this personal submission of application is ending soon i.e the last date is on 24th Oct'2011.
So, if you haven't applied through online then apply manually soon.

My 2011 ece gate rank is 12000. unfortunately i did not do well in GATE 2012,so planning to take admission for MTECH with GATE 2011 rank only. Can i make one more attempt for GATE next year while doing MTECH.

I m working in sail mahartna company on diploma basis..&i also completed my BE in mech. Engg..then let me ask u that is there any benifit to me of this job if i want to get appointed as trainee engineer after gate score?means will they offer me any priority as departmental candidate?
