IGNOU is a Good University and Recognised University and after completing B.com from IGNOU you are definitely eligible for bank PO examination.

And to apply for Bank PO examination You must have purse a graduate degree course in any stream from a recognised university. The eligibility criteria are vary form banks to banks, Government banks have different eligibility and private banks have its own eligibility conditions.

Many Bank wants 55% Marks in your Graduation Course.

But If you are apply for SBI bank PO exam, then after graduation in any discipline from a recognised university is the minimum eligibility, there is no minimum percentage conditions any graduate students may apply for SBI bank PO examination.

But for Other banks you need to scored minimum 55% to 60% Marks in your graduate degree course from a recognised Colleges, Final year graduate candidates are also eligible to apply for BANK PO exams.

So, Please dont worry IGNOU is the recognised College and after completing B.com You are eligible for bank PO exams, And for more information please check the official website of Banks.

Completion of graduation is the academic eligibility for bank PO exams. Whether you have done it as a regular student in any college or by correspondence from a veteran institution like IGNOU doesnt matter. Except for some selected banks like SBI, though it is not applicable for all exams of SBI, percentage secured in the graduation doesn't count. What counts most is your performance in the screening test of the banks. Most importantly, the written test matters more than the oral. Preparation, like for every exam, dictates your result. And as you have mentioned, you have great interest in pursuing a profession in bank, I am sure you will give your best for the screening test of the banks. start updating your general knowledge because this is a very important area for all bank PO exams. You have to learn the tricks of grammar, especially, to clear the English section. For maths, you need a regular practice.

Dear Friend,

* IGNOU Stands for Indira Gandhi National Open University.

* You are definitely eligible for Bank exams if you have completed your B.Com From IGNOU because the only thing you have to fulfill in case of educational qualification is you must have a minimum of 55% marks in graduation otherwise you cannot think of these exams from any point of view.

This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. hope the information will help you to the extent you want.

You can apply for the banks exam since you have completed graduation. A degree completed from IGNOU is also valid. For bank exams you can have regular degree or the distance education degree.

If you want to apply for Bank PO then you should have a minimum marks criteria set by the Institute of Banking Personnel Services for this exam. You can not apply if failed to meet the marks criteria. But in such scenario, you can apply for the IBPS Clerical entrance exam.

The Bank PO exam is conducted once a year. Generally it is conducted in June/July however there is no such rule. While the IBPS Clerical is conducted twice a year. First time in March and second time towards the end of the year.

IBPS exam is accepted by 20 public sector banks. If you want job in government banks then IBPS is the best option followed by entrance exams of State Bank of India.

IBPS Clerical/PO Eligibility

1. A graduation degree.

2. 60 percent of minimum marks.

3. SC/ST would need 55 percent marks.

4. There is no relaxation for OBC.

5. No criteria for marks if applying for Clerical.

6. You should have also completed diploma or degree in Computers.

7. A certificate in Computer operations is also accepted.

8. Else you must take Computer Science/IT subject in either 12th or graduation.

9. Age limit is 20 years to 28 years.

10. There is up to 3 years relaxation for OBC.

11. While for SC/ST the relaxation is 5 years.

SBI Bank PO

1. You should have completed graduation.

2. There is no marks criteria.

3. You must have Computer operating skills.

4. Age limit is 21 to 30 years.

5. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC.

6. While 5 years for SC/ST.

It is good that you have so much interest to get a bank job. From my side, I can tell everybody that it would be better to go in the area or field in which we are having interest.

Due to this, we will be motivated by ourselves and put our best efforts to get the job.

As per your eligibility for Bank PO Exams,

I can not say whether you are eligible or not eligible. Because you did not mention your percentage of marks in your Graduation course.

In order to be eligible to apply for Bank PO Exams, it is must that one should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% of marks.

The age criteria will be as follows
21-30 years of age for the candidates of General category
21-33 years of age for the candidates of OBC category
21-35 years of age for the candidates of SC or ST category.

I think you have heard about IBPS.

IBPS stands for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. IBPS is conducting common written exam for the recruitment of PO positions for all the public sector banks.

SBI and SBI Associate Banks will not come under this category.

The selection will include
IBPS written Exam
Interview

Check yourself whether you have scored more than 60% of marks in your Graduation or not.

If you possess the above criteria, then you can have good preparation for the exam and crack it.

It is not at all a problem for you of completion of your Graduation from IGNOU. You don't need to bother about this.

Huge competition is there in the market for bank jobs.

You need to have strong preparation to overcome the competition and to get a job.

Try to be good in that. You will definitely get the job.

Wish you all the best.
