Yes, you are eligible for IIT JEE exam.

Those who have completed 12th standard from a recognized board with physics, chemistry and mathematics with above 50% marks are eligible for IIT JEE exam. 5% marks relaxation is provided for SC/ST category candidates. Your age should be in between 17 to 25 years.

You can apply for Joint Entrance Exam Main stage with 61.4% marks in 10+2 board exam. The criteria for JEE is:

Candidate appearing for JEE exam must have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and should have scored 50% marks in it.

But after qualifying in JEE Main exam, you will not be able appear for Advanced stage for Indian Institute of Technology since 75% marks is required for Advanced stage.

First thing which I would like to make you clear that IIT JEE entrance examination is now simply known as JEE.

JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination and it is held once every year by CBSE for admission in technical courses for admission in the Government engineering college like IIT, NIT, IIIT, ISM and other CFTI and private engineering colleges. JEE is held in two stages which includes JEE Main and JEE Advance respectively.

--> As per the new amendments which are to be applicable from 2017 for appearing JEE, you are required to satisfy the criteria given below :-

* You must have the nationality of India with your age lying under 25 years till the last date of the same year in which you are appearing in the same examination. Age relaxation of 5 years is applicable for SC/ST and PH candidates.

* You must have completed higher secondary school degree with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects with a minimum of 60% aggregate from a recognised institute. Marks relaxation of 10% applicable is for SC/ST and PH candidates.

For details about JEE you can refer the official link of JEE i.e; www.jeemain.nic.in.
