Re: Can i appear for IIT JEE while studying last year Diploma course?
No, you are not eligible to appear in JEE Main entrance examination being a Diploma candidate. Only candidates who have completed 12th standard in Non-Medical Science stream with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry subjects from a recognised board are eligible to appear in JEE Main examination. So, being a Diploma holder, you are not eligible to appear in JEE Main examination and you cannot get admission in IIT for pursuing your higher studies.

Re: Can i appear for IIT JEE while studying last year Diploma course?
Sorry to say, but you can not appear for Joint Entrance Examination(JEE) conducted by Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), even you completed diploma engineering as there is no provision for candidates completed diploma engineering.
One has to appear for JEE Mains & after that JEE Advance to get admission for B.Tech course in IIT. Eligibility criteria for JEE says that only candidate who completed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics from recognized educational board can appear for JEE. This leaves out diploma students because diploma is not equivalent to 10+2. IITs also do not offer lateral entry scheme for diploma holders, but other universities accept diploma holders by this lateral entry scheme. So you need think about colleges apart from IIT for B.Tech. You can get admission for B.Tech in other universities by lateral entry. For this you need to appear for Lateral Entry Engineering Test(LEET) entrance exam. Diploma holders must have minimum 50% to appear for LEET. Thank you. |

Quote:
Those who have completed 12th standard from a recognized board with physics, chemistry and mathematics with above 50% marks are eligible for JEE Main exam. 5% marks relaxation is provided for SC/ST category candidates. Your age should be in between 17 to 25 years. |

Re: Can i appear for IIT JEE while studying last year Diploma course?
Students completing diploma in any branch are not eligible to appear for JEE(Joint Entrance Examination)which is conducted by IIT(Indian Institutes of Technology). This exam helps you to join in any IIT or NIIT all over the India.
The better option for diploma students to do after Diploma is either doing a job and simultaneously studying further or appear for CET exams conducted by the State Board of Technical Education of respective state.Appearing such CET examinations help you to join in B.Tech or B.E in any university in the state or in any private colleges within the state. |
