Acharya Nagarjuna University is recognized by University Grant Commission (UGC) and as far as the distance course is concerned, various programs offered by the university including M.Sc (I.T.) is approved by the Distance Education Council.
Since your masters degree is well recognized, it is acceptable for any entrance examination including the National Eligibility Test for Lectureship conducted by the University Grant Commission.
Now, in order to be considered eligible for the test, you must have scored 55% or more in your masters degree examination. However, candidates belonging to Sc/St category are eligible even by scoring 50% marks in the qualifying exam.

Yeah shore you are eligible for the UGC NET exam.
NET exam is conducted by the UGC(UNIVERSITY GRANTS COMMISSION) twice in every year, june and december.

Eligibility criteria for junior research fellowship:

The candidate must be complete Master's degree in any recognised university with atleast 55% marks.

You must be a citizen of india.

Age limits is 19years to 28 years.

Eligibility criteria for lectureship:

The candidate should be complete master's degree from any recognised university with atleast 55% marks.

You must be a citizen of india.

There is no maximum age limit for this but the minimum age limit is 19years.

The examination was held two sessions in a day,
Session-I: 10.30AM to 12.30PM

Session-II: 2.00 to 4.00PM.

You are eligible to apply for UGC NET after doing M.Sc.IT from Acharya Nagarjuna University in distant mode as this University is recognised by UGC and also it is approved bu the Distant Education Council provided you fulfill other criteria to apply for NET.

NET - NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST conducted by UGC twice every year for selection of Lectureship and award of Junior Research Fellowship(JRF).

The candidate must be an Indian National having completed Post Graduation Degree in any stream with 55% marks(50% for SC/ST Candidate) from a recognised University above the age of 19 years. There is no bar to the upper age for those applying for Lectureship but those applying for JRF should be within 28 years.

I've done MBA in IT through distance education from Punjab Technical University Distance Education Program, Jalandhar (after BE in Computer Science).

NET Conducted for Two Post:

1. Junior Research Fellowship
2. Lectureship

A candidate who have completed their Post Graduation degree/Master Degree in any Discipline are eligible for applying this Examination.....

There is no any Age Criteria for applying Lectureship Post but for Junior Research Fellowship Podt age not Exist 28 years this exam.....

Nationality of candidate must be INDIAN.....

A candidate with distance education degree is certainly eligible for National Eligibility Test. There is no such restriction imposed on distance education degree holders. The only condition is that your institute should be recognized by the University Grants Commission.

Since your college is affiliated with UGC, I don't see any reason why you can not apply for the National Eligibility Test. The next exam will be conducted in June so if you want to appear for it, better start preparing from now.

In case you are confused about the subject, your NET subject would be Computer Science and Applications. If you are meeting the percentage criteria then feel free to apply as there will be no problem. Please check out the criteria below.


Eligibility

1. You should be of Indian origin.

2. A post graduation degree in any stream.

3. Must have completed post graduation from UGC affiliated university.

4. At least 55 percent marks in post graduation.

5. For SC/ST there is 5 percent relaxation.

6. Final year students are also eligible.

7. There is no limit on number of attempts.

8. Your NET subject would be computer science and applications.

9. The age limit for JRF is 28 years.

10. Upto 3 years relaxation is granted to OBC candidate.

11. Five years relaxation is given to SC/ST.

12. There is no upper age limit if the candidate is applying for college lectureship.

Yes,you will be Eligible to appear in this Exam,if you have completed your Master degree from Distance Mode.

In order to appear in this Exam,you will require the following Eligibility:-

Eligibility For UGC NET

The UGC organized National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted every year in the months of June and December for lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)

A candidate can appear for the UGC-NET only if the candidate satisfies the following conditions :-

>> Candidate must be within the age limit of 18-28 years as seen on 1st June or 1st December if applying for JRF (no age restriction for lectureship)

>> Candidate must have completed post graduation or should be in the final year with an aggregate of 55% without rounding off (50% for SC/ST)

Candidates need to clear 3 papers in the written exam :-

Paper-1 General paper which is common for all..you will be facing 60 questions out of which 50 are to be attempted in a time span of 75 minutes..

Paper-2 based on your subject..you will face 50 questions in 75 minutes..

Paper-3 will consist of 75 questions to be done in 75 minutes..

YES, you can apply for the NET exams conducted by UGC.
This exam is held two times each year and the next exam will be held in june 2013
Notification for the June 2013 exams will come out in March 2013
