although you did not tell us from which place you are and it does not make any difference anyways yo can join BCA (Bachelor of Computer Application) for sure,
it does not matter whether you are from commerce or any other background, you can do BCA in any case, According to the new criteria, those who have completed their Intermediate with or without Mathematics as a distinct subject or vocational course in computer techniques or applications, or its equivalent course without Mathematics are eligible to apply for BCA. some good colleges for BCA are :

Of course why not any student which are pursuing 12th from commerce then you are able for join the BCA course.
If you are interested in BCA then go ahead, many universities invites application for this programme. I am sending you the syllabus of BCA of pune universities,by downloading it you can see it. here the list of colleges which provide the BCA course. PUNE universities is best for BCA course. |

Yes of course BCA is a good choice for Commerce students.....
To get admission in BCA, you should have passed 10+2 with minimum 50% marks along with English. Other requirement is that, you should have either mathematics or computer as one of your subjects in 10+2. different institutes have their own method of admission.... some institutes take students on the basis of merit and some on the entrance exam score and some on the basis of both. so it depends on you where you want to take admission. good luck..... |

Yes, you are eligible for the course of BCA even after being from the Commerce background!!
The minimum eligibility for BCA is 50% aggregate in your higher secondary with English as your compulsory subject. There are many colleges which require you to have mathematics as your compulsory subject, but that is only in elite colleges.There are plenty colleges which do not have the criteria for mathematics. You have to given entrance exam to take admission in BCA course, however many colleges also take on the basis of merit as well. However, eligibility conditions vary from college to college. But basically you need to have 50% aggregate and must pass in the subject of English to be eligible. |

Yes, A student from commerce background is eligible to do BCA as the eligibility criteria for the same is as under-
1. Candidate must have completed Higher Secondary Examination or equivalent 2. The minimum marks secured in 12th standard should be at least 50% 3. The candidate should have pursued the science subjects. The science subjects should include Physics and Chemistry 4. Most institutes insist candidates should have pursued Mathematics during 12th standard You can do the BCA either through a Regular college or through a distance learning mode from IGNOU. |

i have just given my boards exam of 12th i am a commerce student .I want to do B.C.A but i don't have maths .can i do B.C.A ? and i am confused whether i should BBA or B.C.A as i have interest in both the fields. and what is the procedure to get admission for both? do i have to give any entrance test for them i want to do in chandigarh or delhi and please suggest me some of the colleges and there cut off %.?

After Completing Your 12th with commerce Examination, you Are eligible for BCA Course.
BCA Eligiblity Criteria - To get admission in BCA, you have to pass in 12th examination with 50% aggregate marks. But the eligibility criteria varies from colleges to colleges, many colleges wants Mathematics as a compulsory subject in 12th exams. Hi
Candidates who have scored minimum of 60% marks in his/her XII board exam are eligible for the BCA course. So the only eligibility required for this exam that the candidate is 10+2 passed. The duration of this course is of 3 years. During the duration of these 3 years you will be taught many languages and computer applications. There are some colleges in India which only take the candidates having mathematics at XII and got 60% marks. If you have these eligibility then you can apply for BCA course to any college. But if you don't have mathematics at XII then there are some colleges in India in which you are not eligible. But you can apply in other colleges where the Maths is not required.
