Which are the best books to be refer for AFCAT exam?


hello sir..
iam sirisha and iam gng to write the afcat exam for that i want the best books ...pls sir name them what ar those books.......

In the Air force common admission test the topics that they will asked to you are listed below:

(a) General Awareness

(b) Verbal Ability in English

(c) Numerical Ability

(d) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test


There are total of 100 questions asked to you and you will get 3 marks for every correct answer. 1 mark is deducted for every wrong attempt. So try to answer those question only in which you are very much sure. The question asked are not very difficult, so it requires a practice of 1month only.

There are various books available in market for the preparation of Air force common admission test. Some of the books which you can also refer are listed below:

AFCAT Syllabus and Pattern are as follows-

1. The AFCAT Question Paper will have 100 questions. All questions will be of three marks each. For every correct answer the candidate will get three marks and for every wrong answer one mark will be deducted under negative marking. The total time allotted for the paper is two hours.

2. Each Question Paper will have questions from the following topics:-

(a) General Awareness – History, Sports, Geography, Environment,
Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc.

(b) Verbal Ability in English – Comprehension, Error Detection,
Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary.

(c) Numerical Ability – Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit
& loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest.

(d) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test – Verbal Skills and Spatial
Ability.

3. Pratiyogita Darpan
4. NCERT Books of class X,XI and XII

Details of the AFCAT exam:-


1.Flying branch :-

Candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade, but must have maths and physics in 12th..

Candidates age should be in between 19-23 years.

2.Technical branch:-

Candidate must have complete the graduation in engineering field.

Age should be in between 18-28 years.

3.Ground duty branch:-

Candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade.

Age should be in between 20-27 years.

AFCAT Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

To join the Indian Air Force this exam needs to be given. It is open to both men and women. AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test. You have the option to enter any one of the following branches:-
  1. Flying Branch
  2. Technical Branch
  3. Ground Duty Branch

Educational Qualifications:-

For the Flying Branch you need to complete graduation with not less than 60% of marks from a recognized university.

For the Technical Branch you need to get a B.Tech degree in Aeronautical Engineering. You need to secure 60% of marks.

There are three more sub-branches under the Ground Duty Branch:-
