Re: AFCAT books for technical department?
AFCAT stands for the Air Force Common Admission test. This entrance test is conducted by the Indian Airforce for recruitment of male and female candidates into different branches of Air Force like:
>>Flying Branch. >>Technical Branch. >>Ground Duty Branch. The examination pattern of AFCAT is written test and Service Selection Board. Written test consists of General Ability Paper and Engineering Knowledge Test. The general ability paper consists of questions from Military reasoning and aptitude, English, General awareness etc. General ability paper is of 300 marks and consists of 100 questions of two hours duration. You can refer to R.S Aggarwal or Arihant for Reasoning and aptitude. Lucent for general knowledge. Wren and Martin for English. Engineering Knowledge test consists of question from technical core subjects of engineering. It is of 45 minutes duration. The technical paper for different streams is different. So you must rely on the core subjects of your stream and its reference books. For example if you belong to electrical engineering, you must refer to books like Control system by B.S Manke, Electric Machines by Nagrath and Kothari, Power System by C.L Wadha, EMFT by Sadiku etc. Practice objective questions from different subjects and see the previous year papers of your stream for better observation of what type of questions are generally asked in exam. |
