Re: Bio-process engineering or Bioinformatics? which field has better scope, career and jobs?
Bio process engineers are also known as chemical engineers. They are recruited in refineries, pharmaceutical companies, agriculture sector, laboratories, research and development. Bioinformatics candidates are also placed in the same sectors as in bio process engineering.Bio informatics graduates find opportunities in hospitals, pharmaceuticals industry, research and development. Both the areas have good scope.

Re: Bio-process engineering or Bioinformatics? which field has better scope, career and jobs?
hello,
Both of these courses are good according to their prospects. But as you are not interested in the research field you can go with the bio-informatics as a future course. You can have ample opportunities in India and as well as in abroad after doing Master's courses in bio-informatics. There are top ranked universities offering courses on bio-informatics. You don't have to worry about jobs in this field. Good luck.. |

Re: Bio-process engineering or Bioinformatics? which field has better scope, career and jobs?
Masters in bioprocess can get you a job... but masters with bio-info is tough as they look for highly specialised people in bioinfo... and if you are not a computer science student i wont suggest bioinfo, and if u get into bioinfo widout phd getting job is difficult.
with bioprocess.. u can get inot process development, projects, and many technical fields of biotechnology. |

Re: Bio-process engineering or Bioinformatics? which field has better scope, career and jobs?
Ofcoursee Bioprocess engineering is considered better than Bioinformatics. Bioprocess engg is a specialzation of chemical engineering so more job opportunities in core sectors.
But i would suggest you to opt for the one which you like as both are completely different courses and success in it totally depends on your hardwork and interest So chose the best for yourself |

Re: Bio-process engineering or Bioinformatics? which field has better scope, career and jobs?
as you told you are less interested in research, i must say you must go for bio process engineering as far as it is more interesting & job oriented.furthermore as far as bio informatics is concern i too completing my graduation in this.if you have good computer applications with good programing, along with basic knowledge of biotechnological terms & areas you should go for bio informatics with a recognized institution/university this field is more money making if compare to bio process engineering......good luck!

hi friend,
You have a wide choice of options to choose from. As a librarian, you will find openings in government and public libraries, universities and other academic institutions, cultural institutions, information centres, museums and galleries, photo and film libraries, besides companies and organisations with large information-handling requirements. With computerisation playing a key role in information management, there is scope for diversifying into hi-tech areas like systems analysis, research assistance, database operations and management, printing and publishing, documentation, corporate and even freelance consulting, or information marketing. |
