IPS Exam is a part of the Civil Service Exam and it is conducted by the UPSC every year. Based on the rank you secure you will be alloted in the Indian Police Service. Although in other civil service exam apart from Indians, citizens of Nepal, Bhutan and Tibetan Refugees are also allowed to take part. But this exam is only for the Indian citizens. To sit for this exam you must possess one bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution. Even final year students who are about to give the exam or awaiting the result are also eligible. While giving this examination your age should be less than 21 years old. The upper age limit for this exam is 30 for the general category. There is age relaxation for the reserved categories. You have to cross two hurdles to finally get selected. First of all there is the preliminary stage and lastly the main stage which includes again one written exam and an interview session. Since this examination demands the candidates to be physically fit therefore there are certain physical standards you have to satisfy and along with that you may also be asked to do some other physical activities as well. Civil Service Examinations like IAS, IPS and IFS are conducted by Union Public Service Commission for different jobs in the Government organizations of the country. Civil Services comprises of 23 different services of the Indian Government and the Union Territories. Among the 23 different services, Indian Police Service, Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Foreign Service are the most aspired services. The IPS preliminary examination is conducted in two papers, they are general studies and the second paper is optional subject, which includes subjects like zoology, statistics, sociology, public administration, psychology, political science, physics, philosophy, medical science, etc… So, for preparing for the IPS examination the books given below will be of great use to the candidates: This book was published during 2008 by the I.P.S. IPS is conducted by upsc twice in year month of june and december. Eligibility: For applying IPS you should have complete your graduation with minimum 55%. Age limit between 21 to 30 years. ->IPS exam is part of civil service exam and it is conducted by the UPSC every year. ->Based on the rank you will be eligible. ->The eligibility criteria is: 1.Age requirement: ->During the year of applying for the examination the candidate must have attained 21 years of age on 1st of August. so, Minimum age limit is 21 years and maximum age limit is 30 years. 2.Educational qualification: ->The cnadidates must be degree holders of any discipline from a recognized university. ->The candidates who are in final years of their degree course can also apply for the examination. 3.Physical qualification for IPS: ->Height:- The male candidate should be 165cm and female candidate should be 150cm for general category candidates. In the case of candidates coming under SC/ST/OBC the height required is 160cm for male and 145cm for female. ->Chest:- Minimum requirement in the case of male candidates is 84cm and should be expand for 5cm and for Female candidates the minimum is 79cm and should be able to expand for 5cm. ->Eye Sight:- 6/12 or 6/9 distant vision for worse eye and 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye.
