BSNL after B.Tech (IT)?


sir,I am highly desireous to work in bsnl but i don't have information about the eligibilty creteria and the most important question that arises in ma mind is can a IT student apply for the same or not?sir please clarify ma doubt as soon as possible so that I can start ma preparation from the beginning of ma 6th semester itself.
i will be very thankful if u will suggest me the preferred books that i can perfer in ma preparation..

ya an IT branch student can apply in the BSNL for the job but then it depends on the vacancies of the various posts ....
but it is such that there are not many posts for the IT branch students .....

Qualifications:
Subject For BSNL JTO Telecom:
Applier must have Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology or equal Engineering degree in any of the following fields

from an accredited engineering college/university:
  • Telecommunication,
  • Electronics,
  • Radio,
  • Computer,
  • Electrical,
  • Information Technology,
  • Examinees appearing in the final year degree exam may also apply.


So yes you are eligible to apply as you can see IT is also option for it So you just start preparation..BSNL dates are still not publish......yet so keep checkin the websitewww.bsnl.co.in
notification mostly come in the month of feb and exam will be held in april/may.


Expected Minimum Cutoff for JTO 2011 Exam
  • For ST- Cut-off – 40-45 Marks out of 180 Marks
  • For SC- Cut-off -45-50 Marks out of 180 Marks
  • For OBC- Cut-off – 50-55 Marks out of 180 Marks
  • For OC- Cut-off – 60-65 Marks out of 180 Marks

You can apply for Junior Telecom officer(JTO) post in BSNL.

It is one of the prestigious post in BSNL for engineering graduates.

The exam is conducted for three stream;
1. Electrical
2. Civil
3. Telecom

As you are an IT graduate so you can apply for JTO Telecom stream.

The notification for JTO exam in 2011 session has not yet been published.

Once the vacancy is announced the notification for the exam will be published

in Employment News weekly and all major National dailies.

The age limit for the exam is 21-30 years for General category students.

The pattern of examination is as;

Section-I : Engineering stream : 50 questions
Section-II : Engineering stream: 50 questions
Section-III : General Awareness : 20 questions

The syllabus etc details is available in the file attached with this message.

Sure you are eligible to apply. You will need to apply for the JTO post. The suitable stream is telecom as you are from the IT background. You must first collect information on the syllabus of the exam. You can do this by collecting the previous year papers and then begin preparation. Also you must make it a point to read newspapers and journals regularly.

BSNL invited all BE/ BTECH (Telecommunications/ Electronics/ Computer/ IT/ Electrical) plus MBA full time.
so you can apply for the BSNL as you mention you are B.tech with IT.
You can Download the application form from thewebsite and the form must be covered with an envelope marked “ Application for the post of MTs (External Candidate) in BSNL” in bold letters on the top of the envelope.

as you said that you are in 6th sem ,u can apply for bsnl jobs.but there will be less vacanncies for information technology sector.so please be alert to apply ,when ever the bsnl add appears for inforamtion technology.and for bsnl,their will be lot of competition .i think their will limited seat for information technology stream as compared to electronic stream.

if you have degree in the following branch from the recognized college then you are eligible to apply for BSNL JTO exam.

of your engineering. The detailed eligibility criteria for the BSNL JTO is
given below:

Education Qualification
The candidate who have completed their in engineering in any of the following
subjects are eligible to apply for the BSNL JTO exam.
i. Telecommunication,
ii. Electronics,
iii. Radio,
iv. Computer,
v. Electrical.

So you can apply in computer field. Because CS and IT candidates can be
considered in the same fields.


AGE LIMIT
Candidate apllying for the BSNL JTO exam should have age between
21 to 30 years.
There is a relaxation in age for the reserved category candidates.
For SC/ST relaxation of 5 years
For OBC relaxation of 3 years
For PH relaxation of 10 years.
For BSNL employee relaxation of 5 years.

So you need the above eligibility criteria for the BSNL JTO exam.

The candidate must possess an Engineering degree in one of the following disciplines from a recognized university.

Electrical

Information Technology

AGE: you should not have crossed 30 years.

5 years age relaxation in case of SC/ST, Govt. employee, BSNL employee.

3 years age relaxation in case of OBC.

10 years in case of PH general candidate(13 years for OBC PH, 15 years for SC/ST PH).

The notification of this year is not published yet.

Ofcourse you can apply for BSNL. There is no special criteria for the IT students. There is no special book for the prepration to go in bsnl.Better to go any book stall and find any good book for aptitude test and just be prepared.

either February or March.
--The eligibility criteria is as follow:
-Age Limit:
-Age limit for BSNL-JTO exam is the same as in UPSC exams.
-GEN: upper age limit 30 years
-OBC: 3 year relaxation
-SC/ST: 5 year relaxation
-Educational Qualification:
-A B.E./B.Tech. degree in

for Telecom section
-B.E./B.Tech. degree in

for job in bsnl you first posses minimum gradution degree with minimum 21years of age.
if you want to be an enginear in bsnl then you must have a first class degree of b.tech.
yes you can apply for job in bsnl by it degree if posts are available in bsnl for it.
