No diploma is not equivalent to gradution and for appearing in IAS you must have atleast graduation.Please do Btech or any other graduation course and than apply for IAS

This exam conducted by UPSC twice in year.....


If you have completed graduation degree in any Discipline from Recognized Universities then you are eligible for Indian Administrative Service exam.....

Final years student who are waiting for their final result can also apply for it....

General Age Limit is 21-30 years. but there is relaxation is available for reserved category....

For OBC category : up to 33 years..

For SC/ST category : up to 35 years..

For PH : up to 40 years..

There are only 4 attempts available for General category (For OBC 7 attempt limit and for SC/ST no attempt limit).....



Exam Pattern:

The exam have three stages:

1. Prelim Exam
2. Main Exam
3. Personal Interview

After completion Diploma in Electrical Engineering, you are not eligible for IAS exam as the minimum academic qualification for IAS is Graduation Degree.

IAS - Indian Administrative Service and to become an IAS officer, one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appeared for Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.

So if you are interested for IAS, you have to Complete Graduation in any stream or B.Tech. Electrical in order to apply for IAS Civil Service Exam.

I am sorry to say that after passing diploma course you are not eligible for I.A.S exam.

I.A.S exam is also called as Civil Services exam.

Civil Services exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

After passing graduation with any steam you are eligible for Civil Serviced exam.

The age limit for Civil Services exam is 21-30 year.

If you want you can take help of coaching or you can prepare on your own for civil services exam.

You can apply online or offline.
The Form cost is just 50 Rs.

The Eligibility for applying IAS officer was the Graduation from a recognised University.So Complete your graduation for applying the post of IAS Officer

The age limit for IAS officer was 21-30 years and there are 3 sections for IAS Exam

1) Preliminary Exam
2) Main Exam
3) Final Interview

In Preliminary exam you have 2 papers and Main exam you have 9 papers and after passing these exams you will have an interview

NO you cannot appear in the UPSC Civil services Exams

No, friend after completing diploma you are not eligible to apply for the IAS Entrance examination. The Minimum criteria is pass the graduation in any stream.

hi, i have done 3 years diploma in hotel management which is considered to be equivalent to degree.I have also done my MBA. can i apply for upsc exams

SO,diploma is not eligible to civils..

No you are not eligible for the Indian Administrative Service. The IAS exam is conducted under Civil Services Examination which is also conducted for Indian Police Service and Indian Forest Service.

But to appear for the Indian Administrative Service the candidate should be graduate which unfortuantely you are not. Diploma or 3 years of 4 years is not considered equivalent to graduation even if completed after 12th standard.

It makes you ineligible for the Indian Administrative Service as long as you do not complete graduation. If you have completed diploma in Electrical Engineering then consider B.Tech course.

The admission can be taken through lateral entry. The lateral entry means admission directly in the second year of B.Tech. Majority of colleges in India with exception of IITs and NITs offer admission through lateral entry.

The lateral entry admission is given through entrance exam called LEET. You can appear for LEET is completed diploma with 60 percent marks. There are however colleges which accepts candidates without any entrance exam.

Following which you will become eligible for the Indian Administrative Service. Therefore consider completing graduation as it is not possible to appear for Civil Services Examination unless you have completed graduation. This rule is also applied on reserve category candidates.


IAS Eligibility

1. UPSC only allows Indian nationals to apply which includes NRIs.

2. Minimum qualification required is graduation.

3. Do not have any criteria for marks.

4. Your age should be 21 to 30 years.

5. There is upper age relaxation of 3 years for OBC.

6. Upper age limit is extended by 5 years for SC/ST.

7. No physical requirements for IAS.

well friend i am sorry to say that you are not eligible for ias exam as you are a diploma holder which is equivalent to 12th.

IAS exam is conducted by UPSC, and to appear in IAS you must graduate from recognized university. but Diploma degree doesn't equivalent to your graduation degree so you can not appear in IAS exam with your Diploma degree.
first graduate from any recognized university then you are eligible to appear.

IAS stands for Indian administrative service.It was conducted by UPSC. If you want to appear in IAS after completion of you diploma it is not possible.To write IAS you need to hold a degree in any field.So after completion of your diploma,do your degree in any field with minimum percentage of 60%,the you can write IAS.

i have completed 10, 3 years engineering diploma when i went for degree i have one year relaxation so i got admission to 2 year 3 semester now i have completed my degree which is of 3 years course in computer science but i havnt studied 12 .. am i eligible to become an IAS officer??
