Re: Can I appear for IAS exam after having BCA degree?
There is no specific IAS Exam for the candidates to be placed in IAS by cracking that exam.
But, instead, one should have to crack Civil Services Examination which is being conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year to recruit the candidates into various civil services like -IAS -IPS -IRS -IFS etc. The complete selection procedure that a candidate has to go through to be placed in various civil services is by -CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) -Civil Services Main Examination -Interview Yes. You are eligible to give this exam as you have completed BCA course. One should have completed Graduation course with any of the stream from a recognized university to join this course. Even the candidates who have appeared for final year exams of Graduation course and waiting for the result can also appear for this exam. Here is the required age limit to appear for this exam. -One should be in the age group of 21-30 years to be eligible for this exam. -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category and upto 5 years for the candidates of SC/ST category. Start preparation for this Exam from a Coaching Institute and try to be perfect in all the aspects of written exam by the time you appear for it. Wish you all the best. Re: Can I appear for IAS exam after having BCA degree?
If you are BCA Degree holder then you don't have to worry about eligibility conditions because you are definitely eligible for IAS examination.
The essential qualification for IAS examination is Graduation in any discipline from a UGC recognised university. All you have to take care is that you should have the required age . The age required for IAS examination is mentioned below for different categories: General Category - 21 to 30 years OBC Category - 21 to 33 years SC/ST Category - 21 to 35 years So if you have the age then start preparing for IAS examination and don't worry about eligibility conditions. The selection as IAS officer will depend upon the performance in the following three stages: -Civil Services Aptitude Test -Civil Services Mains Exam -Interview You also have to take care about number of attempts which are different for different categories: General Category - 4 attempts OBC Category - 7 attempts SC/ST Category - No restriction in Attempts You can choose optional subject as computer science in the Mains exam as you are BCA graduate.
