Yes, definitely you are eligible to apply for the UPSC Civil services examination to become IAS Officer in future. IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services and is conducted by UPSC every year. You should have a degree to write IAS exam.

There are three stages in IAS exams.

=> Civil Service Aptitude Test(CSAT)
=> Main Exams
=> Interview

You must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination. The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below:

=> upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST.
=> upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes.

If your graduation is complete then you are eligible to apply for this examination next year, then notification is going to be published soon in the month of February and eligible candidates may fill the application form online from the official website.

The dates of Next year examination was already updated in the UPSC website.

Firstly you have to cracked the preliminary examination, the examination is objective with negative marking, if you cracked this one then you are eligible to appear for main examination.

Main examination is descriptive and you have to choose optional subjects for Main examination. After Mains you have to appear for the final Interview.

There are two papers in IAS exam.
PAPER 1:

1. Current events of national and international importance
2. History of India and Indian national movement
3. Indian and World Geography- physical, social, economic geography of India and the world
4. Indian Polity and governance – constitution, political system, panchayati raj, public policy, Rights issues, etc.
5. Economic and social development – sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives etc.
6. General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change-that do not require subject specialization
7. General science.

PAPER 2:

1. Comprehension
2. Interpersonal skills including communication skills
3. Logical reasoning and analytical ability
4. Decision making and problem solving
5. General mental ability
6. Basic numeracy
7. Data interpretation
8. English language comprehension skills

In mains exam following subjects will have to be chosen apart from english, general studies and essay:

1. Commerce
2. Economics
3. Electrical engineering
4. Law
5. Geography
6. Geology
7. Indian History
8. Mathematics
9. Management
10. Mechanical Engineering
11. Medical science
12. Philosophy
13. Physics
14. Political Science
15. Psychology
16. Public Administration
17. Sociology
18. Statistics
19. Zoology
20. Anthropology

Since there is no computer subject you cannot give exam in computer. You have to chose the subjects mentioned above.

eligibility criteria for IAS EXAM:-

you should have to passed graduate with the good percentages.
age for general 21 to 30 years.
age for obc 3 years relaxation.
age for sc/st 5 years relaxation.
you must be an indian.


this exam is conducted by UPSC TWICE IN A YEAR.

Yeah you are eligible for IAS exam, IAS exam is conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) once in a year.

Any graduation completed candidate can be eligible for IAS exam so you are eligible for IAS exam.


IAS exam eligibility criteria:-
