Only those candidates can apply for UGC NET Exam, who are currently in the final year of their post graduation. In this case, the candidates will be admitted provisionally and they will have to complete their PG degree within two years from the date of the NET result with the required percentage. As you will be in the first year of your Master's degree, so you cannot appear for UGC NET Exam. Re: Can I appear in UGC NET 2017 December exam?
NET stands for National Eligibility Test and the same examination is held by CBSE twice every year for recruitment as Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor.
--> The minimum educational requirement for appearing in the same examination is a Master's degree in any one of Humanities, Social Science, Science, Technical and subjects related to the same with a minimum of 55% aggregate from a UGC recognized university. Marks relaxation of 5% is applicable for reserved category candidates and candidates which have completed their PHD degree before 1991. Students appearing in the final year of their Master's degree are also eligible for appearing in the same examination. --> Also the maximum age limit for joining JRF is 28 years where as there is no age limit for the post of Assistant Professor. Age relaxation is applicable for the reserved category candidates as per the government norms. ** Now as you are looking to go for your Master's Degree i.e; Post Graduation degree course from current year and looking to appear in NET 2017 to be held in December 2017, then you are certainly eligible for the same as per the norms a student is allowed to submit his marksheet with the aggregate mentioned above within the two years from the announcement of NET results. For more detailed information regarding the same examination you must refer to the link www.cbsenet.nic.in. |

Final year candidates of master's degree are also eligible for this examination. 2. Those who are willing to appear for this examination must secure at least 55% marks in master's degree. OBC and SC/ST candidates have 5% marks relaxation. You are at present in first year of master's degree and hence there is no possibility for you to apply for UGC NET 2016. |
