Can I apply for IES examination if I am a last year B.Tech student?

If you are in last year of your B-Tech degree then you are applicable for IES Exam.

IES Stands for Indian Engineering Service examination and this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission Once in a year.

If you have completed Engineering course from any discipline then also you are applicable for IES exam OR If you have M.Sc degree in Physics , Radio Physics then you are applicable for IES exam.Final year student also eligible for IES exam .

But you should go for written exam in below mentioned stream-

1.Civil Engineering
2.Electrical Engineering
3.Mechanical engineering.
4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

Number of attempts for IES exam is for general student it is 4., for OBC it is 7 times. and for SC/ST it is 9 time.

Yes, off course you are eligible for IES (Indian Engineering Service) this exam is conducted by UPSC every year for the post of Engineer in Government Section........

IES is the Indian Engineering Service Entrance Exam is designed for recruitment of engineers in government services.
IES exam is conducted once every year by UPSC.

It is good decision to start your preparation for IES exam.
As a primary test ,it is important to understand the pattern and syllabus of the exam.
The preparation should start on the basis of that.You should focus more in core subject areas.
Practice is the only mantra for obtaining a good score in the IES entrance exam.
You should follow seperate strategies for preparing for the objective and descriptive sections in IES exam.

Yes you are eligible for the IES exam for B.tech final year.

Well certainly yes you are eligible if you are in the last year of your btech

In order to attend the Engineering Service exam, aspirants have to pass the engineering graduation in any disciplines.

They should have studied Mechanical, Electronics and Tele-Communication, Civil or Electrical Engineering. Postgraduates in Science streams can also attend the test.

However, they should have specialized in Electronics, Radio Engineering, Radio Physics or Wireless Communications.

In addition, they are supposed to be aged above 21 and below 30 years.

UPSC carries out the Engineering Service examination every year for the recruitment of technically proficient professionals to fill in the various vacancies incurred in Indian departments.

Yes, you can apply for the IES exam in the final year of your B.Tech. studies.

IES - Indian Engineering Service, the exam for which is conducted by UPSC once every year for selection of young Engineers to be appointed in the top technical post under Central Govt. Various Dept.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final B.Tech. Engineering Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 year with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.

The eligible candidate has to write IES in any one stream out of Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/Electronics & Telecommunication branch.

The selection is through written exam followed by personal Intyerview.

Dear friend


Yes,why not ,being a last year bachelor of technology student,you are allowed to give Indian engineering services examinations .

As the minimum qualification needed is B.tech/B.E in any stream from a recognised university or M.sc in physics ,mathematics etc.But the condition is that you have to select your subjects during written exam from the given stream only:

~~Civil engineering

~~Mechanical engineering

~~Electronics and telecommunication engineering

~~Electrical engineering

Age limitations:

For general candidate it is 21-30 years .upper age limit relaxed to 33 years and 35 years for obc and sc/st respectively.

No of attempt:

General: 4,OBC:7 and sc/st : there is no limit.

Yes you can apply for the Engineering Services examination if you are a final year student pursuing B.Tech from any one of the following streams :

* Civil engineering

* Mechanical engineering

* Electronics & Electrical Engineering

* Electronics & Communication engineering


But at the same time your age should lie in between 18-24 years.
