sir, im sneha studying in btech 3rd year please tell me whether a computer sciences student is elgible for JTO and IES examinations as i heard dat its applicable only for some branch students can u please help me?

For BSNL JTO the Applicant must possess Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology or equivalent Engineering degree in any of the following disciplines from a recognized engineering college/university:
i. Telecommunication,
ii. Electronics,
iii. Radio,
iv. Computer,
v. Electrical.

so you are eligible for JTO so go ahead

also regarding IES Exam Candidate should be engineering graduate. However, candidates studying in last semester of engineering can also appear in entrance test but they are required to produce the proof of passing engineering degree.
For some selected posts of engineering services, candidates who are holding MSc degree in wireless communications, electronics, radio physics & radio engineering.

Sure you are eligible for JTO & IES both

But in the JTO exam syllabus all the contents are from ECE branch you need to be work very hard for JTO exam it become difficult you to clear it as it conatins : signal processing, Circuit analysis like subjects in syllabus

You can go for IES

You can Apply only for the job of JTO(Telecom) because it requires engineering degree
inTelecommunication, Electronics, Radio, Computer, Electrical, Information Technology

You cannot apply For IES because only CS students cannot apply for It.

Well sneha listen JTO exam conducted once in three year. Better if you go for IES first. If more interested.

Don't wait for JTO but don't worry You are now in 3rd year and next year will be The BSNL JTO exam i.e in 2012. For that you are Eligible.

Hi sneha,

First and foremost 3rd year students of any engineering branch are not eligible for any exam to obtain a government job.
Only those candidates with a graduation degree are eligible.
Also, final year students who intend to appear for the graduation exam or an equivalent exam are eligible.

You are not eligible.

Also, id like to add that CSE branch students are not eligible for IES exam as there is no syllabus for the CSE branch.
However you can apply for other civil service exams but when you are in your final year only.

dear friend,

you are eligible for BSNL JTO exam but you are not eligible for IES exam.

Eligibility for JTO exam: -

1. Pass B.E. or B.Tech or equivalent degree in Electronics & Communication Engg. or Mechanical Engg. or Computer Science Engg. or Chemical Engg. or Electrical Engg. or equivalent with a minimum of 65 % aggregate marks from a recognized Institute / University.

2. Nationality – Indian

3. Age - 21 Years to 30 Years for General candidates, 21 Years to 33 Years for OBC candidates and 21 Years to 35 Years for SC / ST candidates.

NOTE: - Final year appearing candidates can also apply.

eligibility of IES exam:-

IES is eligible for given below department of engineering.

1.Civil Engineering
2.Electrical Engineering
3.Mechanical engineering.
4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

yes the computer science students can apply for the JTO exams but not for IES exams.............

Of course you are eligible for jto and ies exam.
1...indian engineering services entrance exam :-


-it is designed for recruitment of engineers in government services. Ies exam is conducted once every year by upsc. Examination notifications are published in major newspaper and employment news in january / february and exam is conducted in june/ july every year.


Ies exam eligibility criteria:

Age limit: Candidate should be in age group 21-30 years on the first day of august of the year of examination.

Entrance test consists of two parts :

Age:

The applicant for jtos(telecom), jtos(civil) and jtos(electrical) should not be more than 30 years of age on the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates. However, this age is relaxable as per standing instructions on this subject for:
• govt. Servants upto 5 years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the central govt.

• bsnl employees upto 5 years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the bsnl

• for scheduled castes & scheduled tribes candidates upto 5 years

• for obc candidates upto 3 years

• for general category ph candidates upto 10 years, (for sc/st 15 years and for obc 13 years)
