Re: IES exam for 3rd year Engineering student?
no you can not fight for IES examination. third year students are not eligible for IES examination.
because the interview will be done for IES examination next year in February month. at that time you have to show all the original certificate of your educational qualification and you must passed engineering at that time. now in February you will not pass engineering and you will not get your pass certificate. so you will not be able to show your certificate. that is why you will not eligible for IES examination in third year. last year students and those who have already passed engineering may apply for IES examination. for IES examination the four eligible stream of engineering are * Civil Engineering * Mechanical Engineering * Electrical Engineering * Electronics & telecommunication Engineering so you should fight next year for IES examination if you belongs to one of these four branch and if you are able to fulfill other eligibility criterion. for more details about IES examiantion visit the website http://www.upsc.gov.in best wishes. |

Re: IES exam for 3rd year Engineering student?
Dear friend,
You can appear for the IES examination but only for gaining experience. The eligibility criteria says that you must have a bachelor's degree or you must be in the final year of the bachelor's degree. So , even if you clear the examination you will not be eligible. Also only for gaining experience you have to lie about your current studies. So , i would suggest you to keep your preparations going and appear next year only. If you want to gain experience try to solve sample test papers on your own by creating real exam time situations. Thank you.. |

Re: IES exam for 3rd year Engineering student?
Dear Friend
You can apply for IES (Indian Engineering Services) examination when you will be in final year of B.E./B.Tech. or you can apply after completion of B.E./B.Tech. Before that you can't apply for IES exam. As you are in third year of engineering I expect you to be less than 21 years old. The age limit for IES exam is 21 to 30 years for GEN category candidates 21 to 33 years for OBC category candidates 21 to 35 years for SC/ST category candidates For any further details you can visit UPSC's Official website. http://www.upsc.gov.in/ Thank You |

Re: IES exam for 3rd year Engineering student?
Hi,
3rd year students are not eligible to apply for IES exam. The minimum eligiblity is: *Candidate must have cleared graduation or an equivalent examination from a recognized institution. *Also, candidates in the final year of the course, who intend to appear for the graduation exam the same year may apply. Since you are in 3rd year, so you are not applicable. However, you may be applicable, once you are in the final year. Good luck! |

Re: IES exam for 3rd year Engineering student?
It is must that the candidate writing this exam should complete the course at the time of joining. So if you were in the final year you could appear for this exam. Also it is must that the candidate who appears for this exam should be at least 21 years of age. So since you are in the third year you do not fulfill any of these criteria's. You need to be upset of this as you can start preparing for the exam.

Re: IES exam for 3rd year Engineering student?
No, you are not eligible to appear for IES(Indian Engineering Services) exam. Eligibility criteria demands at least a B.Tech degree . so you can apply only after completion of your B.Tech or in final year.
But for getting experiance you can apply now but remember even after getting success in this exam ,you will not get job so it would be better for you to try for it after completing B.Tech. Also your age should lie between 21-30 years if general candidate, upto 33 if an OBC , and 35 if SC/ST. for any further query or exam notification and dates ,please visit the official website of upsc that is -http://www.upsc.gov.in |
