i'm interested in writing ies exams , i need dates for the examination and how to apply for the examination , currently i'm doing my B.E mechanical (final sem )... is it eligible for the exam?

yes you can give the exam. last date to apply is 7/2/2011. exam is on 14/5/2011. you will get its form in Rs. 20 from post office.

you will get all the other information about the exam and also the previous years question papers at www.upsc.gov.in

The IES exam is one of the exam which is conducted by the UPSC every year. The complete detail regarding this exam is described below:

Name of Examination:Engineering Services Examination, 2011

Date of Notification:08.01.2011

Last date for rceipt of
applications :07.02.2011

Date of commencement
of Examination
and its duration :14.05.2011 (Three days)

Minimum academic qualifications prescribed:
A degree in Engineering from a recognised University or eqivalent.
M.Sc Degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communications,
Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special
subject acceptable for certain Services/posts only.

Age limits
21 - 30 years as on
01.08.2011

Also note that Candidates appearing at Engineering degree or equivalent examination also eligible to compete subject to certain conditions.

Hi,

The IES exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission of India, UPSC.

You can apply online by logging onto:

www.upsconline.nic.in

The fees for the examination is Rs.50/-
No fees is required for Female/SC/ST/Physically Handicapped Candidates.

If you intend to pay the fees in cash, you have to take a print out of the PAY IN SLIP.
You can submit the fees along with the pay in slip at any branch of the State Bank Of India across India.

The Last date of submission of duly filled and complete form is 7th february 2011.
The date of examination is 14th May 2011.

So apply fast.
