Hello i will be 30 years 3 months old for next year i.e, 2016 so am i eligible to take up the IES exam 2016 or not?

AGE LIMIT FOR IES EXAM

** The upper age-limit is of 30 years will be relax able up-to 35 years in the case of Government servants.

** A maximum of 3 years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes

** A maximum of 5 years if a candidate belongs to a SC/ST category.

** The UPSC conducts IES exam every year.

Your Eligibility basically depends on your caste category. So if you belong to General or Unreserved category, then I am sorry to say that you are not eligible to attend IES Examination. But if you belong to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH/ Ex-Servicemen category then you are eligible to appear in IES Examination.

IES exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) every year.

The eligibility criteria for IES exam are as under:-

-The candidate must be an Indian.

-The candidate must possess Bachelor's degree in Engineering(B.E./B.Tech) from a recognized university or equivalent.

-The age limit for IES exam is from 21 years to 32 years as on the 1st August of the year of the examination.Upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidate and 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 10 years for PWD candidates..

-The no. of attempts for the exam is 4 for General candidates under the creamy layer,7 times for OBC candidates and no limits for SC/ST candidates.

-Exam process involves of following stages:

*Preliminary Examination,

*Main Examination,

*Personal Interview.

IES stands for the Indian Economic Services as well as Indian Engineering Services. Both the examinations are conducted by UPSC every year.

The age limit for both the examination is 21-30 years for general category candidates, 21-33 years for OBC candidates and 21-35 years for SC/ST candidates.

So, if you are general category candidate then you can not apply for the IES 2016, if you belong to OBC or SC/ST category then you can apply for the exam.

The candidates should be a graduate in B.Tech from a recognize university.
The age limit is 21 - 30 years,
There is a age relaxation for reserved candidates.

As you will be 30 years and 3 months old, so you will not be eligible for IES Exam.

According to Eligibility Criteria of IES Exam, age limit is:

• For General Candidates: 21 to 30 years
• For OBC Candidates: 21 to 33 years
• For SC/ST Candidates: 21 to 35 years

If you are a General Candidate, then you are not eligible for IES Exam.

It will depend on your category since the age should be in between 21 to 30 years as per norms of UPSC. Since UPSC is the organization conducted the IES Examination once in every year in the month of march/feb.
