To become a Lecturer in College or Universities, qualifying the following examinations are mandatory:
  • Masters Degree Examination conducted by a recognized university.
  • National Eligibility Test for Lectureship conducted by University Grant Commission.

Once you complete your masters degree program in Economics and score a minimum of 55% marks in the examination, you will be eligible to take National Eligibility Test for Lectureship which is conducted in the month of June and December every year. The Test will comprise of three papers and each of them will be objective in nature. Paper I will be based on General Aptitude Test whereas Paper II and Paper III will be based on your subject of expertise, i.e. Economics. After qualifying this test, you will become eligible to apply for the position of Lecturer/ Assistant Professor in Universities and Colleges all over India.

For more information regarding the test, refer to the following website:

You first do Msc and then prepared for NET, SET.If you qualify on this one of exam and have 55% marks in Master degree, then you are appearing for interview conducted by college service commisions.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
