Deogarh College is one of the oldest non-government colleges offering education at higher secondary and at degree level under humanities and science stream of education. The college is offering education with affiliation from the CHSE of the state of Orissa and the Sambalpur University.

It has been functioning from the academic session 1963-64 with the co-operation and financial assistance from the panchayats of the locality. Initially it was affiliated to the Utkal University and after the year 1967, the college came under the jurisdiction of the Sambalpur University.

+3 Arts Stream (general & honors):

Deogarh College offers Bachelor of Arts course under both general and honors scheme and the compulsory subjects offered under both these schemes are Indian society & culture, environmental studies, MIL (Oriya) and English and the elective subjects are English, political science, economics, education, philosophy and history.

+3 Science Stream (general & honors):

Deogarh College offers Bachelor Science (pass & honors) under two different groups namely physical science and biology. The intake capacity is 64 seats for physical science group and 32 seats for biology group (30 seats for sericulture). The compulsory subjects offered under both honors and science stream are Indian society & culture, environmental studies, MIL (Oriya) and English. The optional papers are divided into two, namely minor elective and major elective. The minor elective paper for biology students is mathematics & statistics, while for physical science students it is biology. When it comes to major elective, students can opt for any of the following subjects under the pass scheme: sericulture, zoology, physics, mathematics, chemistry and botany. In the honors scheme, they can opt for any of the following combinations as minor elective: mathematics (pass), chemistry (honors), physics (pass), chemistry (honors), mathematics (honors), botany (pass), zoology (honors), mathematics (pass), physics (honors), zoology (pass), botany (honors), sericulture (pass).
