i think that you can not get admission in the IIt college .... you can only enter these IIT colleges after completing your 12th and filling the IIT and Btech form

Unfortunately you will not get admission in Indian Institute of Technology after completing diploma in engineering. At present there is no provision for diploma students to apply for B.Tech course in IIT.


The reality is that IIT does not offer lateral entry admission. Which means you will have to appear for common entrance exam to get admission in IIT. The entrance exam for IIT admission was IIT-JEE till 2012 which will be replaced by ISEET in 2013.


Unfortunately only 12th standard pass candidates can apply for ISEET and IIT-JEE entrance exam. This leaves out diploma students. The other colleges accept diploma students through lateral entry and give them admission in the second year of B.Tech course.


But IIT as well NIT does not offer such scheme which effectively leaves out diploma students. If you want admission in B.Tech, then I will suggest you to consider other colleges apart from IIT and NIT.


There are some very good colleges that would offer you admission through lateral entry. You will have to appear for LEET entrance exam which stands for Lateral Entry Engineering Test. Several colleges offer admission through LEET entrance exam. You must have scored 50 percent marks in diploma to appear for LEET.


Other colleges however conducts their own entrance exam to offer admission. While some colleges give admission on the basis of merit.
