Dear Aspirant

To join Indian Army officer, first you have to appear in recruitment exam for Indian Army Officer after passing this you will be gone through Indian Army Officer training to become an Army Officer.

Combined Defence Service(CDS) Examination is one of the Exam conducted by UPSC to recruit candidate in Indian Army for Officer post.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for UPSC CDS EXAMINATION:

You should be Bachelor Degree holder in any stream from recognized university.

Final year candidate of above such program can also eligible to apply for CDS Exam.

For CDS Indian Army, Your Age should be between 19 to 24 years.

To appear in CDS Examination you should be Unmarried, Male & Indian Citizen.

To become an Army Officer you have to appear for the exam for recruitment of Army officer like CDS and after succeeding CDS exam the candidate has to undergo a training to become an Army Officer.

CDS - COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE exam conducted by UPSC two times every year as CDS-I and CDS-II for entry in to:-

INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY
INDIAN NAVAL ACADEMY
INDIAN AIR FORCE ACADEMY
INDIAN OFFICER'S TRAINING ACADEMY

The candidate must be an Indian unmarried National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 25 years of age with good Physical Fitness.

If you are interested to apply for Indian Army then you can do that by applying for IMA of CDS-II 2012 exam provided you should be within the age of 19 to 24 years of age, the notification of which will come out in the month of June 2012 followed by exam during September 2012.
