Definitely..you can join Indian Army after completing B.com Course.

After B.com you can join Indian Army by giving CDS entrance examination conducted by UPSC twice in a year namely as CDS(1) & CDS(II).

CDS is Combined Defence Service
UPSC i.e. Union Public Service Commission


To join Indian Army through CDS , your Age should be in between 19 to 24 years. You should be Unmarried, Male & Indian Citizen.

To eligible for CDS Exam candidate must posses Graduation degree in any stream from recognized university & there is no restriction minimum percentage for CDS.

To join Indian Army, you should be Physically & mentally fit & should not have any physical disabilities. Below is the Physical standard require for Indian Army.

You can join Indian Army after completion of B.Com. through appearing CDS entrance exam.

CDS - COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE exam conducted by UPSC twice every year as CDS-I and CDS-II for entry in to Indian Military Academy, Nval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer's Training Academy of CDS.

The eligible candidate must be an unmarried Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 24 years with good Physical Fitness can apply for Indian Military Academy of CDS.

The selection is through written exam followed by personal Interview along with Physical Fitness and Medical Test.

I am happy to inform you that you can join Indian Army after passing B.Com with 44.86%.

For this you have to qualify the C.D.S exam.

C.D.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year.

The age limit for C.D.S exam is 19-24 year for Indian Army.
For O.T.A age limit is 19-25 year.

There are three steep of selection:-
> Written Exam
> Interview
> Medical exam

C.D.S. EXAM.(II), 2012
Date of notification:- 02.06.2012
Last date of submission of form:- 02.07.2012(MONDAY)
Date of exam:- 16.09.2012(SUNDAY)

As you have crossed the age limit required for the CDS examination so you are not eligible to apply for the Combined defence service examination. The required age limit in different forces is given below:

Age Limit
Indian Military Academy 19-24 years
Air Force Academy 19-23 Years
Naval Academy 19-24 years
Officers’ Training Academy 19-25 years

Your qualification is sufficient for the CDS examination but because of Age you are not allowed to sit for the combined defence service examination.
Also there are not any other entries for you now through which you can join Army as an officer.

Dear Friend

At the bachelor's degree Union Public service commission conducts Combined defense services examination twice every year for the selection of candidates who want to serve for nation for the different academies like :

1.Indian Military academy

2.Indian Naval academy

3.Air Force academy

4.Officer's training academy

Friend as you have mentioned that you have done your bachelor's degree in co yearsmmerce with 44% of marks ,so you are eligible in terms of academic requirements for the academies like IMA or OTA .

Here is the age limit for the exam:

The age limit for the different academies is different :

IMA:19-24 years

INA:19-22 years

OTA:19-25 years

AFA:19-23 years.

According to your date of birth that is 07/04/1986 ,your age will be around 27 years in 2013 which is above all age limits for any academy .

So sorry to say that you are not able to join Army due to age limits.
