N.D.A i.e. National Defense Academy :-

The candidate have to passed Intermediate(10+2)from a recognized Board or equivalent qualification and the candidate age must have attained 16.5 years and not be over 19 years at the time of appearing for this examination. This examination was conducted two times in a year by Union Public Service Commission.

Candidates who are appearing in the final year of 10+2 examination can also apply for this examination.

10+2 Technical Entry Scheme :-

The candidate have to passed 12th with physics, chemistry and mathematics from a recognized Board or equivalent qualification and the candidate must secure at least 70% marks in your examination. The candidate age must have attained 16.5 years and not be over 19.5 years at the time of appearing for this examination. The notification was published in the newspapers/employment news in month of May/Dec every year.

University Entry Scheme :-

The candidate have to passed engineering degree from a recognized Board or equivalent qualification and the candidate age must have attained 19 years and not be over 25 years at the time of appearing for this examination. The notification was published in the newspapers/employment news in month of May/Dec every year.

Candidates who are appearing in the Pre-final/final year of engineering can also apply for this examination.

I.M.A Examination :-

The candidate have to passed degree from a recognized Board or equivalent qualification and the candidate age must have attained 19 years and not be over 24 years at the time of appearing for this examination. The notification was conducted two times in a year by Union Public Service Commission.

Candidates who are appearing in the final year of degree can also apply for this examination.

Technical Graduate Course :-

The candidate have to passed B.E/B.Tech from a recognized Board or equivalent qualification. Candidates who are completed B.E/B.Tech course can also join I.M.A through Technical Graduate Course. The notification was published in the newspapers/employment news in month of April/Nov every year.

There are two ways for you to join Indian Army.

You can join the Indian Army by passing Combined Defense Services Examination also known as CDS Exam by the Union Public Service Commission.

The CDS exam takes place twice a year to recruite cadidates into Indian Military Academy.

The CDS exam usually takes place in February and September.

Here are some requirements to be Eligible for the CDS Exam

1. You should be unmarried

2. Your age should be between 19-24 years. Remember there is no relaxation for Sc/ST candidates.

3. To get entry in Indian Military Academy, you should have Degree from any recognized university with 60 per cent marks.

4. You should be Indian Citizen.

5. Height - Your height should be at least 157.5 cms

There are two parts of CDS Exam.

1. Written Test - You will have to pass CDS Exam written test.

2. SSB Interview - If successful in examination, you will be called by Services Selection Board for interview. During one week you will go through various physical and psychological to ascertain whether you are fit for Army or not.

If you also passed the SSB Interview then you will be admitted to the Indian Military Academy.


Second way to join Army is through University Entry Scheme

Your age should be between 20 to 27 to appear in this examination.

There are two parts of the exam:

1 SSB Interview

2 Campus Interview

After completing graduation you can join Indian Army through the CDS exam CDS stands for the Combined Defence Service Examination. This exam is conducted by the UPSC government. The CDSE exam is conducted every year in order to select the candidates in the different defence fields.

Yes, you can join Indian Army after completion of B.Tech.in ECE branch through applying, appearing and cracking the entrance exam called as CDS.

How To Join Indian Army After B.Tech

The best way to join the Indian Army for you would be by appearing for the Combined Defence Services(CDS)

The CDS Exam is conducted every year by the UPSC in the months of February and September for recruitment of candidates to the following wings :-

After qualify C.D.S exam you will become Indian Army Officer.
