Yes, as a non medical student you can qualify for Indian Army wing of NDA provided you fulfill required eligibility criteria.

NDA - National Defence Academy, the exam for which is conducted twice every year as NDA-I and NDA-II by UPSC to join Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian unmarried male having either appear for the 12th final exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical and Mental health.

The syllabus for NDA exam is as follows:

Mathematics: Maximum Marks: 300

Algebra

Matrices and Determinants

Trigonometry

Analytical Geometry

Differential Calculus

Integral Calculus

Vector Algebra

Statistics and Probability

In part A you will be having English for Maximum marks of 200.

General Ability Test Maximum Marks 600

General Knowledge Maximum Marks: 400

Yes you can qualify the NDA exam if you are a non-medical student. Your age must be between 16.5 years to 19 years and you must be a citizen of India or Nepal or Bhutan and also you must be unmarried. Then you can easily apply for the exam. Best of luck.

Of course even a non-medical student can qualify for NDA...Since the NDA entrance test is very difficult so you definitely have to burn midnight oil in order to have a chance there...

There is an entrance test where your mathematics and general ability are tested.Mathematics is for 300 marks and general ability part comprises of 600 marks...all the questions are objective type and you have the negative marking as well.
Then if you manage to qualify for the written part, you shall be called for the interview...

Also make a note of the fact that you are eligible for the entrance only after passing class 12th or equivalent exam.

>>Your minimum educational qualification should be Intermediate pass out in Science stream.

A non medical student or branch is the one in which there is no BIOLOGY Subject. So i a way we can say that once after tenth grade, when people are given choice to take up streams then there are 3 Major options i.e :

SCIENCE COMMERCE AND ARTS

So Science further has two more parts of :

Medical - Physics + Chemistry + Biology + Mathematics (Optional)
Non Medical - Physics + Chemistry + Mathematics

So SURE A NON MEDICAL STUDENT CAN APPLY FOR THE NDA, But Qualifying would depend on how well you perform in that particular exam on the date. Talking in short about the NDA and what it is, its an entrance which is conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year for the purpose of recruitment in the Army, Navy and Air Force.

The dates and Notification for the NDA 2013 is already out and you can apply for it ONLINE. Click on the link. Also make sure you do so latest by 21st January as its the last date. The Exam would be held on 7th April 2013 which is again a Sunday.

Eligibility Criteria is that you should be an unmarried male Indian within age limits 16.5 to 19 years. Also Science candidates are open to apply for ANY of the 3 wings, whereas the Commerce and Arts can only apply for Army wing. Another important aspect is the medical fitness so make sure you are fit.

I am happy to inform you that you are eligible for N.D.A after passing 12th with Non medical Stream.
N.D.A. Exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice.

Eligibility criteria for N.D.A exam:-
