Re: Can a private degree student sit for IAS exam?
Hello Simpi,
The bachelor degree you hold must be of a recognized university, either central or state. The civil service exam is conducted by union public service commission-UPSC and as per their standard, no matter how much you have scored, if you have graduated from a recognized university, you are eligible for the exam. The eligible age for the same is between 21-30 years with relaxation of 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST. For more information, you may refer to the official website of UPSC. |

Re: Can a private degree student sit for IAS exam?
Yes, you are eligible if your college is govt recognized.
Also, there is no constraint on stream. You can apply for Civil service exam in your final year or after it. Age limit is 21-30 yrs. Forms for the next yr exam will be available in December for whic notification are announced in all newspapers & Employment news. So, you should start preparing now, as it takes one yr for good preparation. You can go by self study OR coaching, but it must have been aware of the competitiveness of exam , it is advised you should atleast opt for postal coaching if not regular coaching. Most of the institute provide postal coaching material & i would recommend for: Vajiram institute for civil service Rau's Ias Study circle. |
