Can we appear for CDS examination in the middle of our degree course?

Being in the eligible age limit, can we appear for CDS written exam just for practice (currently in 2nd year engineering degree)? If yes, then when and how can I apply? When is the next CDS exam going to be conducted and last date to apply for it?

CDS exam is conducted twice a year by the UPSC.
Thus, to apply for CDS candidate should hold a bachelor's degree. A candidate in 7th semester(3.5 year)can apply for CDS.
Thus, you are not eligible to apply for CDS.

CDS stands for Combined Defense Services and CDS examination is held twice every year by UPSC.

Further, the minimum education required for appearing in the same examination for joining any of its wing is a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Students pursuing final year of their graduation degree course are also eligible.

So, being a student of second year of degree in engineering course, you are not eligible for joining defense services through CDS examination as per your educational qualification.

For more updates and details regarding CDS entrance examination, you can refer to the link www.upsc.gov.in.
