The Indian Forest Service Examination comprise of the following compulsory papers:
  • General English
  • General Knowledge

Now, as far as optional paper are concerned, you may select any two subjects from the given list, irrespective of the subjects you have studied in the qualifying program:

Botany-Chemistry-Chemical Engineering-Civil Engineering-Forestry-Geology-Mathematics-Mechanical Engineering-Physics-Statistics-Zoology

Now, as you can see that the list include Botany and Zoology, instead of Biology, you may select both the related subjects as this combination is allowed as per the guidelines set by Union Public Service Commission. However, apart from this combination, you may opt for any combination apart from the following which is not allowed as per UPSC:
  • Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering
  • Agriculture and Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science
  • Agriculture and Forestry
  • Chemistry and Chemical Engineering
  • Mathematics and Statistics.
  • Any two Engineering subjects
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
