Indian Forest services after B.Sc(botany)?
if i am bsc in botany can i now appear for the indian forest service?

The eligibility criteria is:
1.The age should be between 21-30yrs. 2.You should have a bachelor's degree in science. So first you need to complete your bsc. |

IFS (Indian Foreign Service OR Indian Forest Service )
Minimum Educational Qualifications : candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subjects namely
or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering Since you had the botany subject in B.Sc so you are eligible...... IFS Exam conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). |

As you have completed B.Sc (Botany),you can apply for Indian Forest Service exam.
And your age should be between 21 to 30 years,if you belong to general category,for OBC is another 3 years,for SC/ST is no limit. |

don't worry about it but IFS(Indian Forest Service) it is some what different from other exams which are like CSE(Civil services examination) IFS and IES are separately conducted apart from CSE the schedule is also different from CSE but the eligibility criteria remains same like all the other exams conducted by UPSC the important dates of IFS 2011 IFS 2011 Exam Date : 9th July, 2011. Duration of IFS 2011 Exam : 10 Days. Last Date for receipt of IFS Online Applications : 18th April, 2011. Yes, you are absolutely eligible for IFS....
eligibility criteria for IFS: Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Science with at least one of the following Subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Geology, Statistics, Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry or A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any stream) / Forestry/ Agriculture or an MBBS. your age limit should be between 21 years and 30 years. The exam will held in the 2nd week of July. The exam pattern will be like: General English which consists of essay writing, precise/summary writing and questions to assess your comprehension and verbal ability in English. General Knowledge which covers questions relating to the Indian political system, the Constitution of India, history of India, geography (India and world), general science and current events (national and international). the questions will be of higher secondary level and the optional subject will be of Honors degree level. to prepare for IFS, you can follow these books... |

INDIAN FOREST SERVICE EXAMs are conducted by UPSC.
After B.Sc. in Botany,you are eligible for this exam. Eligibility Criteria for IFS exams:Bachelor's degree in Science with at least one of the following Subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Geology, Statistics, Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry; or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any stream) / Forestry/ Agriculture; or MBBS.
