The CMJ University Shillong is duly recognized by UGC. This University is empowered to award various degrees as per the specification of UGC. The authorization of UGC allows CMJ University to conduct new courses without the approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Thereby candidates can attend UPSC examination after acquiring degree from CMJ. CMJ students will be also eligible to attend UGC NET/CAT/GATE exams after degree programmes.

CMJ University is the University Grant Commission (UGC) approved University and established by the government of Meghalaya as per section 2(f) of UGC act 1956.

CMJ University is approved by DEC But CMJ University is not approved by AICTE .
