To get admission for pursuing B.Tech course after completion of your Diploma course, you have to appear in lateral entry examinations like LEET, ECET, JELET, etc.,. which is conducted by your respective state technical board of education. Being a Diploma holder, you are eligible to get direct admission in second year of Engineering course through lateral entry admission process. After qualifying the entrance examination, you have to participate in the counselling process according to your examination rank to get a seat for pursuing B.Tech course.

There is an entrance examination conducted by State Technical Board called Lateral Entry Entrance Test. LEET is conducted for admission in second year of engineering directly. The eligibility criteria for this exam:

1. You must have minimum of 60% marks in diploma.

2. Final year candidates can apply for LEET exam.

Depending upon your rank in this exam, you can get admission in Bachelor of Technology course. Diploma holders are also eligible for JEE exam for admission in Indian Institute of Technology.
