In India many top steel companies are there for example: 1.RINL-Rashtriya ispat nigam limited corporation, 2.Tata steel corporation India, 3.steel authority of Indian limited corporation. every year positions change depends on rankings. but presently Tata steel corporation India is a top company. ok. |

It was founded in 1907 and at present it is one of the top ten steel companies in the world.TATA steel has its commercial presence in over 50 countries across the globe and has operational activities in 26 countries. For the financial year 2011-12 the turnover of TATA STEEL was calculated at US$ 26.13 billion. It is a unit of SAIL and mainly produces alloy steels and pig iron. It was founded by M Visvesvaraya January 18, 1923 by the name of Mysore iron works but now operates under SAIL. VISL has received the ISO / TS 16949 : 2009 certificate for steel production through rolled and forged routes and pig iron production. 5.Bokaro Steel Plant Hailed as India’s first swadeshi plant Bokaro steel plant was started originally as a private venture in collaboration of Soviet union. It was later on included under SAIL. It was first included as a subsidiary and then as a unit via the Public Sector Iron & Steel Companies (Restructuring & Miscellaneous Provisions) act 1978. The construction of the plant started on the date April 6, 1968. Bokaro is famous around the world for producing top quality hot rolled product. Other than this the pant also produces flat products like Hot Rolled Coils, Hot Rolled Plates, Hot Rolled Sheets, Cold Rolled Coils, Cold Rolled Sheets, Tin Mill Black Plates (TMBP) and Galvanised Plain and Corrugated (GP/GC) Sheets 6.Bhilai Steels The specialty of Bhilai Steels is that it is the only steel plant that produces rails and heavy steel plants and major producer of structural. The plant produces 3.153 MT of saleable steel every year beside these merchant products and wire rods are other products of plant. The plant also has the ISO 9001:2000 certification for quality management standard. It has also been awarded ISo/;14001 for its environment management efficiency. It is the only plant that supplies steel for the rail tracks of the country measuring 260 meters. 7.Essar steel Essar steel is one of the powerhouses in steel production worldwide with a capacity of over 14 MTPA. The steel giant is operational across four continents America, Asia, Europe and Africa. Its complex in Gujarat, India is the 4th largest single location flat steel plant in the world. The product range includes Hot Rolled, Cold Rolled, Galvanized, Color Coated steel, and Pipes and Plates. The company produces it’s products under the brand name of Essar Hypermart with per annum capacity of over 5 million tones. The products are distributed via 375 retail outlets across the four continents.
