Is it necessary to register or pay fees for 2nd year in the 1st year itself for any IGNOU programme? Or, is this rule carried on only for few selected courses?

If you want to continue the course under IGNOU then you have to submit the fees regularly no matter you are appearing in the exam or not. There is some time limit for the course in which you can complete that specific course. You can look into the prospectus for the same. For example in MBA, time limit is 4 years but the course is for 2 years integrated. It means if you are unable to do it in 2 years then you are allowed to continue until 4 years. Once you have submitted the fees you need not to submit it again and again. you only need to submit the examination fees time to time.

To register or pay fees for 2nd year in the 1st year is necessary or applicable for all IGNOU programs and you have to follow this rule if you want to continue your course from IGNOU.

And if you are unable to submit this in time then you have to pay late charge along with fees too.

As per my knowledge, it is not compulsory to pay 2nd year fees along with 1st year fees for any course of IGNOU.
