hello sir/madam

I am mechanical engineering graduate of 2011 batch. I am planning for mastering degree where i am confused between MS and M.tech. According to my staffs and friends opinion people opt for M.tech as they are interested in lecturer post in colleges and it dosen't hav so much important in companies, i mean the M.Tech degree.
It will b very kind enough of u people if u could help me to figure out which of the two is more beneficial.And also if u could provide the informaton how to go for it i mean the various exams conducted like Gate, Mat etc .

See my friend M.Tech is better option as compared to MS.As you are a fresher candidate so if you have GATE score card which is valid up to two years then it is fine and get admitted to a renowned college or university.After completing GATE take lectureship in any college and your life will be good.

Now to prepare GATE the following subjects are very important to you as you are from Mechanical background.These are...

1. Strength of Material
2. Engineering Mathematics up to volume-iv
3. Drawing
4. Operation Research etc..

see, both M.Tech and MS are very good course.

M.Tech is master in technology.

where as MS is master in science.

maximum Indian university provides M.tech degree.

where as in abroad, maximum university provides MS degree.

so if you are interested about to get M.tech degree, then you have to give gate exam.

if you are interested about to do MS degree from abroad, then you must prepared for the GRE entrance.

It depends on you in which way you want to go.
The selection process for those two is completely different.
In case of M.Tech you have to prepare for the Technical questions.
Whereas in case of going for MS you have to give test on Aptitudes and Language.

me sohail of eee branch and i'm in confusion whether to take m.tech or ms for my further studies and had a thought of government jobs also .. i'm in lot of confusion . plz give me a sugession

M.tech or MS which 1 has more scope in the industry and i look forward to work in an EPC or any GOvt. or Govt. undertaking organisation ..Ne how its actually interst and my own choice, i very well know that... but when i listen to my friends about M.tech i feel litl disappointed about opting this choice as they say there is very little scope for M.tech in the industry as ur PG is as good as ur B.E and no use spending 2 yrs & rather go for MS in some foreign universities...thats what is making me a bit perplexed and i m not sure whether i would be able to work for any govt organisation with my M.tech neither would i be able to work in EPC without an MS..I would highly appreciate if any 1 frm this forum would guide me in this regard...
