I am in 10th class. I am studying in a local school. I want to become a Software Engineer. Please tell me which course will I have to do? What about scopes?

If you want to become software engineer you have to pursue B.Tech course.

The required qualification to purse the course is that candidate must have passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main paper.

So, first you have to complete your 12th std and after qualifying in entrance examination such as JEE, BITSAT, VITEEE etc. will become eligible to get admission in better institutes.

There are broad scope of the course in IT sector in MNCs.

Being a student of Class 10th, to become a software engineer you first need to pursue your higher secondary school degree with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as main subjects from a recognized board of education.

After completion of your higher secondary school degree, you need to pursue bachelor of engineering/technology degree course in computer science or information technology stream from a recognized engineering college.

As far as you are concerned about the scope of software engineering course then it has a very bright scope in the software field in this digitally emerging world.

To become a Software Engineer being a 10th standard, you have to pursue your higher studies i.e., Higher Secondary course with PCM stream and B.E/ B.Tech course with CSE/ IT/ ECE stream. After completion of your 12th standard with PCM stream, you have to appear in engineering entrance examinations like JEE, EAMCET, etc., and after qualifying the entrance examination, you have to participate in the counselling process according to your examination rank, so, that you can get admission for pursuing B.E/ B.Tech course. After completion of your B.E/ B.Tech course with good subject knowledge and Communication skills, you can apply for job opportunities in top MNC companies to work as a Software Engineer.

To pursue Software Engineer course you have to pursue 12th in science stream.

So, you have to pursue 12th in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main paper.

Candidates after completion of 12th will become eligible to appear for entrance examination to get admission. Entrance examination is conducted by most of the institutes for admission in the course.

With present qualification you are not eligible to make it to the admission in Software engineering course.

The required minimum qualification to get admission Software engineering course is that candidate must have passed 12th in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main paper.

So, first complete the 12th std to get admission in the course.

After competition of 10th, go for MPC (Maths, Physics, Chemistry) course in intermediate. Prepare for entrance exams (JEE, Bitsat and State level entrance exams like EAMCET, KCET, etc.). At the time of completion of 2nd year in intermediate, apply for these courses.

After getting good rank, marks in entrance exams, will get admission in good college or university which is most important. Choose CSE (Computer science and engineering) or IT (Information technology). At the time of studying prepare for technology courses as mentioned below.

Technology courses:
1. C and Data Structures
2. C++ and Advanced data structures
3. Oops concepts in Java
4. Advanced Java
5. Web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
6. JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, ReactJs, VueJs.
7. Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence

You can study with online courses which are available over various sites on internet (Coursera, YouTube, W3Schools, Tutorial point, Lynda, etc.) If you have internet at home it's possible option. Otherwise you can join in reputed institute which are available near to your location.

If you have studied and practiced these courses with your graduation, it's easier to get software engineer job in reputed software companies like Google, Microsoft, Samsung, Infosys, TCS, CTS, Dell, Chase, Citi Bank, etc.

First thing I would like to let you know that the basic education required for becoming an engineer in any stream is a higher secondary school degree with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects followed by Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of technology degree course from a recognized engineering college.

Further, as far as you are concerned about becoming a software engineer then in that case you need to opt for Computer science or IT trade for pursuing your B.E./B.Tech degree course.

First of all you have to complete 10+2 and after completing you need to clear IIT JEE entrance examination. After qualifying you will get admission in B.Tech 4 year degree programme in any of the good colleges in desired stream.
You can get direct admission also that is without clearing IIT JEE examination also.

It has very good scopes in government as well as private sectors. Software Engineers are in demand recently.

If you want to become a Software Engineer, then you have to complete your 10+2 examination with at least 75% from any recognized board. After that you have to apply for JEE Main examination. If you will clear this examination then you can apply for JEE Advance. After clearing it, you will get admission in IIT college in B.Tech in Software Engineering.

This course is very much scopic and demanding in current generation.
