SIR I HAVE WRITTEN MY CA-CPT COURSE ON 17'JUNE.WHAT SHOULD I DO TO REGISTER ACS COURSE?WHEN SHOULD I REGISTER?IF I REGISTER WHEN WILL BE ABLE TO WRITE ACS FOUNDATION EXAM.PLEASE HELP ME SIR.

In order to become a company secretary you need to first get courses which are certified by the The Institute of Company Secretaries of India. The course which you need to do can be further sub-divided into the following categories:-

• Foundation Level
• Intermediate level
• Final Level Courses

Foundation Level:-

For the foundation level you need to pass higher secondary examination or its equivalent from a recognized board with not less than 55% of marks. The duration of the course is eight months but from the time you enroll for this course you need to finish this course within three years. Before you attain the age of 17 years you won't be able to sit for this examination.

Intermediate level:-

To reach this level you need to pass in the first level. But there is direct entry available for those candidates who have passed final exam of ICWAI or ICAI or any other accountancy Institution in India or abroad recognized by the council of institute. Even graduates directly enter the intermediate level. For them foundation level is not required.

Final Level:-

You need to pass in the intermediate level for enter the final level. If you will sit for the June exam then you need to register in March or before that. For December's exam registration needs to be done in September or before that.

You will be admitted as an Associate Member of the Institute on successfully competing the apprenticeship under Practicing Secretary.
